Gibraltar is part of the UK but it is geographically located in Southern Spain. I will send you a PM in respect of prices for the plate. Has anybody tried the gadget with the youtube video that moves the front plate under the car before? Thanks, Martin
The motorized flip down plate bracket is pretty slick for higher clearance front spoilers. However, for really low front clearance spoilers my concern would be that the whole mechanism will be destroyed (shear off) the first time you hit something. And, you have to drill into the car and run wiring.
My 2013 458 arrives sometime at the end of this month (March). I live in NJ so I'll need a front plate bracket. Can you send me the link so I can buy yours? Thanks.
I love my front plate bracket (made by chairpilot). It has saved me from several tickets here in Virginia. Easy to take off for car gatherings - I store it in my front trunk for any car show. Here's a pic of my 458 with the bracket mounted on it. . Image Unavailable, Please Login
If NV had summers with highs in the low 80s I'd move there. the state Bird is siala currucoides and is a good thing though. BTW my 458 Spider came with a front license plate holder. Never been out of the trunk. Of course I have the 90 day temp plate from the dealer. I still plan on keeping it in the trunk.
FWIW I personally have no problem with covering the little front horse. I think that it looks a bit out of place anyway in the middle of a dark, wide "mouth," and I count many other logos, horses, and shields splashed at various places on the body and the wheels that announce that the 458 is a Ferrari.
I just got the bracket for the front license plate for the 458 from Chairpilot products. Now I just need to get my car delivered!
I have no front license plate on my cars, and my windows are all tinted, including front windshield. I live in Nevada and California and except for the time a "meter maid" with too much time on her hands ticketed my parked car near the UCLA campus, no one has said a word, since the day I began doiing this when I purchased my (first exotic) 1981 Porsche Turbo. Maybe dumb luck, don't know. Best
Hi Bob, I have a 458 and would be interested in purchasing one of your Removable front licence bracket's. How could I order one? Thanks Barnabas
How do I order one of these? The website http://www.chairpilotproducts.com doesn't work. The link posted on the previous post doesn't work either. Thanks Mike
Ok I'm resurrecting this post because I didn't want to start a new one. But can anyone confirm whether this company is still selling this model front plate clip for the 458? I tried emailing them with no response but I keep getting contradicting info that they are still in business. Also for those who have one, how much did it cost?
As of April 2014, Bob's son-in-law planned on making occasional production runs. I got mine in May. It cost $215 inclusive of shipping to Calif. As there are several versions of the clip and this is probably a side venture for him, I suspect there may be a backlog of demand that is hard for him to keep up with. BTW I am very satisfied with the clip quality. I have no affiliation other than being a satisfied repeat customer.
Good to hear. I suggest spending a bit extra and getting the black powder coated finish. Makes a huge difference visually if the plate has to be on the car a lot (like around here).
Any other solutions out there? I really just need it for parking on city streets where parking enforcement can get you.
So far, I've installed the plate only once - when I received the mount, to ensure it properly fit. Otherwise it resides in my trunk. Check out Dynamic Technology Group. I'm also a satisfied customer of their product, but concluded I didn't want to use a tow hook mount because the force of a collision would be transferred directly to the chassis. There's a couple other alternatives I recall reading about that you should be able to find if you search the threads or do a broader Google search.
