So I recently picked up a M3 Convertible...great car, 18k miles. I had an 02' convertible also years back. Anyway, I was thinking the only thing this one is missing is red calipers. Anyone know a good shop in the OC area that does a good job, and will not jack up anything on the car. And any thoughts on how much it would run? Thanks.

You'll need a qualified shop to remove the brake calipers and a paint or powder coat shop to change them to red. How far do you want to go though? You might be able to skimp and cover the pots and seals then only spray hi-temp paint the outside. Some folks might even be able to paint just the visible outside portion of the caliper while still on the car. Looking at the Ferrari threads, doing the full removal and replacement parts while powdercoating typically costs $1500 - is that what you want on a BMW DD?

Premier is the best. I wouldn't let anyone touch my car but them.

You can do this yourself in about an hour. Get brake cleaner, high temp paint and a couple brushes. All available at a good hardware or auto parts store. Pull a wheel, clean the caliper, spray paint into a cup, brush on, repeat. You can clear coat if desired, but not necessary. Works great, costs about twenty dollars instead of 1500. I wouldn't do this to a Ferrari due to resale implications, but I would and have done it to a Porsche and an SL65. Works fine, lasts a long time......

BTW, that is a great looking M3.

Here's yet another contact to consider. For the record .. Premier Motorsport does quality work .. at absolutely heartbreaking, 'scary' almost sick to your stomach prices. My contact. Anderson. 'The Touch'. 949 874 7418. About $100.00 a caliper. Good work. Paints calipers while on the vehicle. Give him a call. Really nice guy ! Kudo's

Cannot go wrong with Dave at Premier but if you want to stay in the OC, reach out to Sean at Ultimate Shield. He is about as OCD as Dave and his crew.
