    Good to see you, Shamille!!

The thing to know about R&T, FWIW is that they just canned the entire West Coast staff, and office, and moved back to Detroit somewhere...

Peter Egan may be one of the few constants on staff actually, he has always been an Editor at Large (and also gigged for Cycle News, for many years..)

Although I'll take either the photo paper or the giclee print, my vote is for the giclee.

Thanks for offering us the image in a large size.

Dang! Thanks for that, just wish that Peter Egan wasn't getting all the credit.
My photo credit was along the top edge, which is conveniently cut off.

That was my first thought on seeing the picture in R&T some 30 (!) years ago, and again a couple of weeks ago when the thread was posted.....

A gentleman never wears white when there's snow on the ground, unless he's on skis.

Is this per copy or for a run of a couple hundred? There are better alternatives than what you have been quoted.

    Tony,

I'm in. I'd prefer a giclee of the published picture.

    Regards,

    Art S.

Since original was made on film nothing will compare to a hand made print through the blow up.

I'll take one as well........but I'd love for the caption to be on it. I'll professionally mount the thing under glass and put it on my wall in the den.

I too bought that R+T issue back when, and remember laughing out loud at the PS page when I saw it.........a classic photo epitomizing "cool" in a Steve McQueen sort of way......and an awesome caption.

    How did I miss this.
Yes Tony, count me in for a copy too. Biggest size and best quality. Will go well with the Chris Meek shot with 188MPH on the speedo.

I would like a print as well.

May I suggest someone come up with a formal process of ordering with Tony? Maybe someone could put together a web page for him where we can place our orders?

Thanks for all the interest and helpful suggestions.
When I have it all figured out, I will post a link to place orders.
Hope to have it ready for May, which would be the 30th anniversary of it's first publication in R&T.

    Cheers

What a wonderful find. Thank you for sharing the story behind it and considering a limited run.

I too am interested in a signed copy of the print run as well.

    Hi Tony,
Thanks so much for considering this. I would be interested in a print with the caption as well.

I think happy, it's the most famous Boxer in the world!

This is the most memorable PS ever for me. I thought the photo/caption combination was brilliant at the time. I still do.

Then: Canon. F-1 and A-1. The Boxer photo was taken on a 24mm 2.8 lens

Now: Canon 60-D. My camera needs these days are different from back then.

I still have all my old 35mm gear, collecting dust.

I still feel that film has a certain something that digital can never accomplish. The results from film are much more to my liking, still or movie.

But I tend to be old school in just about everything.
