    When locking my drivers door using the key from the outside it is no longer engaging the door lock on the passenger side as well. However when I lock the passenger door from the outside using the key it does engage the driver's-side lock. Has anyone encountered this problem?

    Most likely (I'm guessing...could be wrong), problems with the wiring harness from the doors, where they plug into the body by the door hinges. Unscrew and unplug those connectors and see how horrible the corrosion is.

    I had exactly the same problem than you, and It was all caused for the wire connectors at the doors. I had problems with the electric windows too, and the side mirrors did not work fine neither. Those connectors are a problem itself. I eliminated the connectors and I have no problems since.

    It's very easy to inspect, just slide back the rubber protector and have a look if everything looks right, mine was a disaster. You can see how I did it in the post #54 of this link:
