Ive been getting involved with the building of carbon fiber parts for my 355 and would like to get some opinions on my possible next project. Its a carbon carbon fiber spoiler that fits above the engine cover. I found a picture online of a similar one, mine woldn't have the brake light. What are your thoughts do you like it? Or what about a front chin spoiler? Like the one below? I dont know if this one is possible on my car as Ive lowered it with the H&R springs. My most recent fabrication was the door mirror triangles. Is there anything else you guys think would look good in carbon fiber for the 348/355? Erick, Looks like there should be a more cost effective alternative to Macarbon's dash and door pieces. These are the 4 dash pieces which includes the glove box door as well as the left and right door pieces which house the window controls. The door mirror triangles for the 348 in twill would be nice as well. You did a really nice job and appreciate your willingness to as for inputs.
I have always thought that there is a better way to make a front chin spoiler that is not so easy to break off. I had the idea to make the spoiler where it is actually along the lower front of the 355 bumper instead of being under the bumper. It would give the same look but not hang down so far. It could have a lip that does go under the bumper for attachment but no further down. Just a thought.
Make a centre console with this tray. I found this pic on this forum, but have no idea who made this centre console. I think it looks great for putting youe cell or your wallet there. I find putting this stuff behind the ashtray, it slips off when I take corners too fast. I thinkn this idea of building it into the centre console would get around that. I know the car, and I'm pretty sure it's a factory, one off piece. It would be great if you could make something similar. I think most of us 355 owners would go nuts with CF upgrades if they were more affordable. Perhaps you could have a quantity cost model. Afterall, they made 11k 355s. Personally, I need some door sills, and would buy a complete interior if it were affordable. The center tunnel would be a great start. And oh yeah, make me some factory CF seats.
try to replicate something similar to this one.. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/attachments/348-355/1669799d1362692513-awesome-lines-355-tumblr_lv57g30vpz1qh1l1qo1_1280.jpg
Couldn't agree more. I'd do my whole interior, sills and engine compartment but the parts are crazy expensive right now.
I love the front lip spoiler. I have tired to find a way to buy it but the company Imola/Dimex does not appear to be selling it anymore as far as I can tell. I would for sure buy one if it was available and reasonable. Doesn't even need to be CF.
The F355 desperately needs a lip spoiler. That being said the Imola one seems the nicest, but as we have said already - make it so that it is flush with the bottom of the bumper so as no to effect ground clearance. I have thought of using this product to get a mold first. EZLip.com
Hey Erick. Do you have any current pics of your interior you would like to share with us? Mr. Carbon Fiber Dude!
"Mr. Carbon Fiber Dude" I like it... I'm just getting started with my 355. The only part of my interior that is carbon fiber are the door triangles I fabricated. I also bought some carbon door sills before I started doing my own.
I like it, but I'll only add functional stuff to my car so unless it has some aero benefit I wouldn't put it on.
