Gang, Can anyone recommend other used/new 355 parts sources besides FerrParts, G.T. Parts and European Auto Recycling for my '97 Spider? Obviously, I know about Ricambi but I am finding some of the used suppliers also often carry "new in box" (NIB) Ferrari parts which can represent significant cost savings. Specifically, what I am looking for is a LH front fender panel (P/N 63962800) and a LH Door Shell (P/N 64477000). I would also be very interested if someone had or knew the existance of a RH fender panel (P/N 63962700)-- used or new - that was "badge style" because I found a LH fender in "badge style" but can't get it unless I also find a RH panel to complement it. Send me some used/new 355 parts links. Need to buy parts ASAP. Thanks everyone!! ketel
Could try here: http://www.eurospares.co.uk/searchResult.asp?find=+&S=+64477000 http://www.eurospares.co.uk/searchResult.asp?find=+&S=63962800 or here: https://www.ferrariparts.co.uk/Default.aspx May find the parts are cheaper if they can source them. Both get the parts direct from Italy with only a small mark up.
I have several items from these guys. Exotic Auto Recycling, Leading part supplier for Ferrari, Maserati, & Lamborghini
You can try Dennis Mccann allFerrari parts, I had good luck getting a couple of hard to find parts from them. Italiancarparts have some stuff as well but I haven't used them. I usually just go Ricambi as I get most stuff within 2 days and they have excellent customer service.
In terms of quality and service, Ricambi is always the obvious choice. However, I did buy some new items also from T Rutlands and AW Italian had the best prices. I found Ferrparts to always be the most expensive by far... for used parts, I rely mostly on Ebay and Prosport UK.
I looked for the badge style fenders for a 355 for a long long time and I could not find the right side. There are 2 lefts always available but no rights. You wont get any fenders or wings for under $1500. Doors can be found easily. Try Italian auto recycling. Some of these guys out there also try to flog repaired fenders and other parts, be carefull. And yes Ferrparts have the highest prices by far and you dont always get what you thought you paid for.
Russ at Ferrparts. I have gotten several used parts and they are great. They are near the San Francisco area too.
+1 Russ at Ferrparts. I have purchased numerous used parts as well as new at a discount. New part service is no where near what Ricambi's is. But if you know what you need and can live with some craziness and an extra day on delivery, the prices are hard to beat. Order via e-mail so you have a record of what you did
Thanks guys. Lovin the fast responses. Makes this board such a great resource. As some of you pointed out, finding a "badge-ready" LH fender is doable but it's near impossible to find a RH fender in that configuration. I'm half-way tempted to get the badge-ready LH fender and the badge to go along with it while just getting a single Yoshi thin-style shield for my exsting and unblemished RH panel, but I'm afraid it might look funky having one side have a recessed factory-style shield and the other side a non-recessed fender and a stick-on (although high quality) Yoshi shield. Thoughts? ketel
-1. Do it right, do it once. A proper shop can dent the fender so it locks correct with genuine shields.
I just purchased a right hand side OEM badge style fender from Mike Glew at Best Exhaust in Australia ([email protected]) at http://www.bestexhaust.com.au With shipping to the US it was in the low $2k range, about 30-40% more than what I paid for the LH side. Regardless, a good deal & Mike is a great guy. I highly recommend contacting Mike for hard to find parts as he may be able to source for you a good deal... like he did for me!
