I've been on FerrariChat for years, and seldom post. I tell you that to enhance the compliment I'm about to pay you. I love your car! I keep coming back to look at it! I think the color gives it a retro flair and certainly sets it apart from the standards. Also, something about your car makes me see 246 Dino...which I think is a GREAT thing...presenting the 458 in a way that makes me love its perfection even more!! SAT4RE and other members - thanks for the compliments. This was a tough build and I took a huge risk by using orange leather - I was very worried about the leather color and I am glad it worked out so good... once again I relied on my Atelier in Maranello and he has seen it all so that is a huge factor in how the car turned out.. The Matt Carbon was a big choice - it looks way better in person as it is hard to capture Matt Carbon in camera as you can in person..this and the charcoal Alcantara subdues the bright orange and viola!! The orange leather inserts in the steering and the center tunnel add 'fun' to the car.. The Russo Dino off range color was the hardest choice as everyone discouraged me to use this color (saying the car will look like a lambo) but the spiders back engine color lines are similar to the Dino's so your observation about similarity to 246 is correct - my inspiration for Russo Dino was member ISUK (Ian I think he is in UK) he owns the 458 and a Dino both in Russo Dino (thanks Ian) --- The color is fantastic it changes with light so it is always fun to see it change.. Love it! I'm not that brave....or wealthy enough....so I stuck with rosso scuderia, sort of in between corsa and dino. Again, luv your car, interior is outstanding. Best.
Ash: Very cool car. I like the non-CF interior. I ordered the leather wheel with LEDs like you have. I can't tell fom your photos, bu is the bottom of he wheel wrapped in leather? Thanks, Lew

Lew Thanks for the compliments. The car has CF interior and CF Challenge grill also CF back race seat. The CF was ordered matted so Ferrari sends out all the CF including the parts in the LED steering wheel to get them hand matted. The result is a very refined muted CF package - I could not capture in in a picture but will try again and post some day. Todo.
Ok, gotcha, now I know what you mean by matt carbon. That is REALLY REALLY cool. I will check into this for my car.

Todo-- u've got balls, you pulled it off... and it looks awesome! I'm going to think about copying your look but in rosso corsa exterior, wheels in gun metal instead of black, red where you have orange on the interior. Very creative and very cool. To me the interior takes on a scud/track car look-- very very sporty. Well done!

That will be a cool combination... you may notice that I could get the stitching close to the Russo Dino color but only leather close to Russo Dino was orange...that was scary until I saw the car in person... You will have the choice to keep the same color for the paint, stitching and leather and I think that will be awesome... Image Unavailable, Please Login
