Testing times means absolutely nothing, unless you always are faster than your team mate (thus maybe making the team support you more). Good on him anyway, but ... Pete
Felipe Massa sets new fastest time on third day at Jerez | Formula 1 | Formula 1 news, live F1 | ESPN F1
Im rooting for Massa. He is still a better sport than most other drivers, and should have been WDC. And to me that is as important as anything. He also got hit in the head. I Hope he wins even if many of you think it is a long shot. Rob
Alright Felipe,,,,, time to impress!!!!! I think everyone will be surprised with his performance this season.
I couldn't care less about Felipe's performance as long as he earns his $$ and makes a more meaningful contribution to the WCC this year. That's all he needs to do and he will be sent off into retirement as a well respected part of the Scud's history at the end of the season.
BBC Sport - High spirits and air of anticipation surround season opener --Meanwhile, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo made two interesting remarks in an interview with Italy's Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper this week. Firstly, he said that Alonso's contract ended in 2015 - when the team have always said that his deal runs to the end of 2016. Secondly, he said - before the first race - that if Alonso's team-mate Felipe Massa has a strong season, that the Brazilian will drive for them again in 2014. As ever in F1, the off-track intrigue promises to be every bit as fascinating as the on-track action.-- Not good news for a few here who dont care for Massa....
M/F'er. Personally, I really hope he keeps the seat into 2014 for a few reasons; - The haters will be apoplectic! Which is always fun. - His experience will be good with the new regs. - He's still damn good. Better than most IMO. Cheers, Ian
But it is more fun to watch his 5 fans on here sweat trying to explain why he ****ed up yet another race. As for 2014: he better keep those pics of LdM in the safe What worries me more is LdM's comment about Alonso's contract end: sounds like he is trying to make room for Vettel and since Fred doesn't like that idea, we know how that will end: 2006 rinse, repeat
Luca being Luca? Doesn't like it when he's not the center of attention. There's no point in this kind of speculation from him this time of the season. Other than "tradition".
I read it more sinister: - He is telling Massa to shape up or else. Leaving the carrot of 2014 out there dangling. - He is telling Alonso that there is no contract for 2016. And by doing so waving at Vettel pointing out the empty seat. - He is telling both drivers and the world that he, Luca di Mozzarella is indeed a big cheese. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nah. In my experience cheese know enough to remain silent. No doubt that he was trying to communicate just what you suggest, but this isn't the time and that wasn't the way. Assuming that you're trying to accomplish something other than just getting noticed.
I just hope that, if Massa doesn't "suck" the first few races, that Alonso can focus on going after Vettel and RB, instead of trying to punt his own teammate off the track. (Remember 2010, Alonso nerfing Massa off the pit entry in China?) "You're too close to Fernando" = Bad news for the WCC.
WEll, Massa as been "sacked" over a 1000 times by many "experts"...but he´s still there and Kimi left "a big shame i admit"...but if he keeps his form like he was in the final stages of last year i wouldn´t be surprised if the one to leave and make room for Vettel or bring Kimi back, was Alonso..... That would be awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Ferrari Go Massa Go Alonso....slowly....
I'm happy but how much you wanna bet that after lap one, he's behind Alonso. I will say it's great that finally the two cars are close to one another rather than 10 positions apart as usual.
