You have to understand that NJ has a long history of industrial abuse and pollution. There are still several superfund sites within a mile of my house right on the Hudson river nestled between an upscale housing/shopping center and a daycare center.

This is in farmland area and they probably want to be assured that it's not going to be another cut and run operation. That there is a need for a place to store the cars is without question.

I'm not sure they feel so confident that COPART is going to do the right thing.

the problem with these Sandy cars is the car could have been submerged, the water was about 5 feet deep at my door steps, alot of lower level garages were submerged, a friend of mine lost his Diablo due to the garage flooding, he is not a member here, so the car might look ok in the photos but salt water ruins everything if not immediately taken apart and flushed and rebuilt and even if it is,,its still a total nightmare, think about completely re-wiring the entire car, rebuilding or replacing the entire running gear,, heck , its even worse than that!

There are a few metals that do not corrode in the presence of sodium chloride. However I know of no automaker that uses them.

For anyone entertaining the idea of a flood damaged vehicle, no matter if it is fresh or salt water, remember that there is nothing that is completely sealed. Secondly, for any vehicle that was completely submerged I'll bet that the cylinders are still full.

you got that right, and that would render any major mechanical parts useless, that salt is a killer, it ruins everything, and with this much time passed then motor and transaxle is absolutely useless,, such a dam shame with such nice looking cars, but i am not saying someone could not fix one, i allways think there is a little luck involved in buying a auction car from copart or iaai. and reparing it to drive and enjoy .

Where is the pole damage? Is this an incomplete repair car? A lot of salvage Copart cars are listed/relisted from previous salvage sales after a hood, bumper, or fenders have been attached with a lot of the damage hidden. The seller is hoping to make a quick buck hiding the real damage. I've seen several times. I almost got caught buying an R8, lost by only $250 and saved from a real disaster/disappointment.

Has the front been reattached to hide the pole damage?
