I friend talked me into driving his ZR1. He is very proud of it. My Porsche Boxster S is more engaging. No way does is compare to my old 360 Spider and new 458 Spider as far as driving enjoyment is concerned.

the vette had little to no road feel. the looks are pendantic and the sound is pathetic. the interior does not remotely resemble a sports car. driving fast you had no feeling of speed kinda like a Bentley in that regard.

I remember at the track the Vipers and the vettes had to sit cause the oil heated the engine instead of cooling it like the Ferrari does. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

would rather have an old Shelby AC Cobra than any vette any day. And just about any Ferrari.

Can't remember the last time I saw a vette in Aspen. We have lots of Porsches, a few Ferraris, some Astons and Bentleys. No vettes to speak of. Nobody would notice them anyway.

You are forgetting that you have to beat the living crap out of the Ferrari to get those numbers. The vette not so much.

Actually a C6Z has gone under 11 seconds, bonestock, and below with dr's ..... This is an exception and done by people like Ranger on Corvette Forum, normal well driven is 3.5 seconds in 0-60 not 4 seconds.

Fastest bang for the buck 0-60 is a GTR, then a P car turbo. End of story.

I don't want a 911 for one reason. It lacks control.

My roomate in college had a 911. His father owned a 911. I've loved the 911 but would never trust one. It has a reputation for climbing trees.

When Top Gear drove the Ferrari F430 around the track, a race car driver drove 1 second faster than a novice.

It is a glowing review of the F430.

    My feelings exactly.

Vettes are great bangs for the buck but I wouldn't want one.

    Ranger went bone stock except for the multiplicity of clutches consumed prior to finding one strong enough for drag racing starts. {I am a vette forum watcher and participant with a good memory who used to own a Vette. This falls into the catagory that I consider my F355 bone stock een though I use Ferrodo DS2500 brake pads. Technically these are not stock.}

The issue with Vette acceleration is the lack of traction due to a lack of weight on the rear end of the car. Placing the engine another 4.5 feet backwards would solve that problem (but will never happen). And that is with tires significantly wider on the Vette. I don't know of a STREET car going 3.0 (or sub 3) second car that has the engine up front.

I fixed everything Jeremy had a problem with out of the box, extra sound barrier insulation, fixed the stereo. What I promised myself I'd do and didn't was I didn't leather up the interior and upscale the console. When I sit in it, I get no "Ahhh....", doesn't do anything for me. I hate having a car that I can't be happy just climbing into the driver's seat. I LOVE the exterior of my C6. I love looking at it. When I have room to enjoy it, driving is fun. But the interior just sucks. Maybe I should leather it. As it is, currently, it's for sale.

Nice looking color! Ferrari would charge 18 grand for that! :)

Which? My dealer said fiorano was a $7k option on the Italia. This ain't rossa fiorano, which I adore. Ferrari candy apple red for $18k?

I don't know the cost but this is Rosso Berlinetta and it's just gorgeous in sunlight. I am pretty sure it's 18 grand but I didn't ask details.

7 grand or 18 grand -- it's a lot cheaper on the Vette than an F car!

Just because they can, of course. Maser's pearl white actually has real pearl, so there's at least some lame excuse why it's a $10k option on a GranTurismo. But $18k for candy apple is just simply, like the $4k speaker box in the 430, because they can.

And yes, that look an awful lot like my red. My bet is that's the same car we had at FOW a month ago, saw it up close and personal and never crossed my mind how close it was in hue to plain ol' GM CRMT. Mine's metallic. What would Ferrari charge for the diamond dust?

That reminds me of when I got the Mondial 8. Guy I work with is a big Corvette fan and likes track time and the same week he got a C6. He asked if I had seen the Yellow Ferrari in the deck and if it was real. I said it was and it was mine. Even though his Vette was more expensive and faster he said he could not beat the Ferrari. He also likes the sound of the Ferrari at 7000 rpm as I go through a couple gears. Feel and presentation of the Ferrari goes a long way, even with a slow 4 passenger one. Numbers are not everything my Crossfire is faster, quicker, lower maintenance and the top goes down, but it no where near as much fun to drive.

Perhaps the question should have been is there any Vette that's as much fun as a Ferrari?
