Good luck with the car Brent but don't forget investment wise no service history with these cars is not good!

And I would be wondering how well it has been cared for mechanically if it has had a low budget paint job hey its a Ferrari who in their right mind would do that..

Just for the record if you dont purchase this car and find one anywhere near Monterey Steve Fregmen is your man for a PPI. he calls himself Ferraritech he is very,,,very thorough...

    Cheers Shane

Ok, I'll give them a visit Friday morning. I'll give them a call to let them know what time.

We'll give you a note of what we see. You can hopefully determine if you want to proceed with a PPI.

This dealer is about 7 miles from my location so gas money is not necessary. My pleasure to help.

Thanks Kim. Much appreciated. Don't hesitate being a harsh judge. Brent

That needs a complete respray. The air intake looks wallowly in the lower line....filler...accident. Console needs refreshing. Seat material looks odd grain wise. Cluster monopod material seam split. Lots of negotiating items on the yellow car. Didnt do the tensioner bearings.....only the belts? If that is the case, that is a pricey fix if not doing it yourself. Unless you want a project...pass.

I am very grateful to Fernankr (Kim) for being so generous with his time to go visit this GTB in LA and for providing me with such a thorough assessment of this car, over the phone, via email and now with these pictures. His observations confirm what others had touched on about this car, namely that it was in need of considerable work. Now that I see the pictures Kim provided, I will not be pursuing a purchase of this car.

Thanks very much Kim. You are a great ambassador of the Ferrari hobby. Hopefully I can return the favour some day.

    Brent,
It was a pleasure. When making the sort of investments we all make in these autos, you cannot be over informed. If your are paying top dollar and learning another $10K is needed to bring the car up to standard, better to know what you are getting into before jumping in.

    Good luck in your search!

Fernankr, let me know if you would do it again for another Ferrari car. And how much you would charge. I'm also in the negotiation for a car in LA. Would like a third party to look at it for me and take close-up pics. Fell free to say no if you prefer not to do it. Thanks.

I actually live in the San Francisco Bay Area and I happened to be visiting relatives in LA last week. The timing that I was in the area just worked out well for Brent.

I could ask around and see if there are any reliable people who could take care of this for you.

However, if you have something in the San Francisco, San Jose area I would be happy to assist with a look and a report.

I'll check around and send you a note with possible LA contacts.

Im astonished that the true condition of this car is not even close to matching the ebay description. I mean, some lacquer checking is charming, but come on. Thats a 25k car tops.

Thanks Fernankr, I tought you were in the area. Don't bother asking others. I will do my homework to make it. Thanks a lot for the offer.

Kim: Hey, I forget to mention....love your car, especially the boxer paint scheme and the fact that it's a Euro spec car.

After kindly inspecting the Giallo GTB on my behalf, you now have a good sense of how good a deal you swung on your car!

Like you said over the phone, your interior is 100 times better than the Giallo GTB. You were hardly exaggerating.....at either end of that comparison!
