I am fast approaching 12k, who can beat that? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
There are a number of 458's here in the Bay Area that are driven often, highest mileage I have seen is 39k on a 2010.
One of the UK driving experience companies recently sold its first 458 with 50 000 miles after two years
In Milano, my friend's 458 has 76.000KM He Purchased his 500 abarth about the same time as the 458, but the Abarth has done only 13.000km until now.
How does that child seat work in connection with the air bags? I thought there is no way to de-activate the air bags in a 458. In which case isn't a child or infant in the front seat in danger?
I was under the impression that the seat has a weight sensor that tells the airbag control how much force to actuate. Hope no one on hear slams me for driving my 4 yr old girl around in the 458.
No I wasn't slamming. I have a 4 year old but he has only used the front seat in my 458 twice (emergency/last resort travel, 5 mins max., seat furthest back etc.). I know the air bag is still on because it doesn't take much weight at all for the sensor to think there is a passenger in the seat. Even my laptop bag will activate it to "on". So there is no way a 4 year old weight would not deactivate the air bag. I wish there was a switch on the 458 or even a special child seat that could communicate with the sensor like with some other vehicles/seat brands. Even the Ferrari child seats (which I used to have one) made no difference.
You can buy a seat with the BabySmart technology. These are sold by Ferrari and MBZ. They work great and fit great in the 458. Your dealership can order you one or buy one from MBZ.
I am at 1100 miles. Getting there. And I take my son with car seat. Rock on with your 458 use it! No use in saving it for someone else.
1 month and placed 2400 miles on it. easy to do...they are certainly not appreciating in value sitting with low miles..It was said that not driving your 458 should actually be a crime! I agree.
It's been a little over a year since this thread was last updated. The 458 has been out for 5 years now. What's the highest mileage now?
I've heard about cars with over 40,000 miles on them and so far, they seem to be pretty bullet-proof.
