Buyer is an Atlantian. I haven't seen the car for two and a half years, so I don't know what it's current state is. JD
Hi, If you guys are interested, I just posted a couple pictures of a Beta Spyder, Monte Carlo and Beta from my neck of the woods in the 'Tehran Cafe Racers' thread in the Middle East section. Regards, Ramin
Very nice, Ramin. That's such a great thread. You're celebrating the Nowruz in full! via rubber ducky
About five years ago, I met a guy here locally who owned this one, a really nice example. Not long after I took this picture, I heard that he sold it but have no idea where it ended up. Image Unavailable, Please Login
In that case, I have met you in person, and chatted. We were the group from Memphis, had a few X's and a few Spiders. Yours was the nicest Scorp there. First turbo Scorp I'd ever seen. I remember Cap'n Woody driving up in his Scorp having driven all the way from Florida, and quite a driver compared to yours. That was a fun meet, I think we had around 50 cars there. I took video of every car leaving from the motel. I remember Miss Pink there in her Fiat Spider passing around her "Peach Brandy"....wow that stuff was strong. I remember them saying you had an Italian shop in Atlanta. Quick question; There was a long running story about a deserted, locked yard that had over 100 Fiats of all varieties in it. Are you familiar with this story? Nice to run into you here on Fchat, what a small world! I still have a 70 X and an 83 Spider, but the Spider is about to got to Houston to BigTex's stable of 308's.
I built this 037 style supercharged Scorpion 10 years ago. Got passed thru several owners and seems to have been flooded and now for sale. 1977 Lancia Scorpion 037 Replica Volumex Super Charger
What a shame. I'm asumming it's not salt (as in Sandy) water damage? Even so, the entire interior has to be redone and all the instruments. Maybe a disassembly/reassembly of the engine will suffice? 190Hp is a huge boost over stock of course but what's a real 037 road vs rally have? I just love the look of Montecarlos/Scorpions. Don't fit though
Its in Tennessee so most likely freshwater. An 037 Stradale streetcar is going to set you back 200,000 Euros plus getting it here. This is $3000 and some labor. Would be an easy racecar project. The one I still have has racing seats mounted directly on floor and double-bubble hardtop adding more headroom. Legroom, can't do much about but racing seat is less thick than cushy stock seat. My complaint is pedals are all close together near center tunnel so hard to drive w/ big feet. I always wear narrow or racing shoes when driving them.
i have an whole interior dash and instrument cluster sitting in my basement for about 20years. so if anyone is interested...

Don't fit though [/QUOTE] I believe my 037 Stradale is 245 hp, they have wonderful power delivery unlike some of the turbo cars of the era. The Chris Harris video for the Pirelli tire testing rated the rally car at something like 340hp. I'm 6'3" and although a tight fit the 037 works well. Far more room than the RS200. Bob....you would fit in the passenger seat but we would look kinda like a pair of Ringling Circus bears getting out
Big feet here too! Could I drive it barefoot? My wife would kill me. I need a new location to be able to work on my cars so that's the top priority now. I already have a few in the oven so no sense in making any more batter to bake. No way I'd be able to get the real thing. Think I'll just go and watch that video again. So why did you sell it if it was so fantastic? Bored?

I'll supply the bright red wigs and nose pieces. You want to see funny along those lines? I used to watch Manute Bol climb out his sports car every day at the Oakland Coliseum parking lot. I forget what he was driving but with me it was either the GTV6 or the Bora. Now there was a spider man. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I had 5 of them at once plus other cars/projects prior to getting my warehouse so something had to go. https://sphotos-a-atl.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash2/562086_332523010142225_156148430_n.jpg I like building them and the yellow one was pretty much built as far as you could go w/o making a tube chassis so it had exhausted the build fun factor. Kept my first and favorite which I still have and did aftermarket gauges last weekend and have F50 taillight conversion to complete. https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/228708_168007649927096_8369670_n.jpg And I still get to play w/ others doing the rallyracing/hillclimb gig. https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/1009731_10200380192563718_1995591166_n.jpg
Clowns might be more apt ... I'll supply the bright red wigs and nose pieces. I save those outfits for the Autobiachi Bianchina transformable!
Ah OK. So you got something a bit newer and actually built to rally a bit. If you don't mind me asking this, there are so many types of performance mods that I've seen for these cars that it's hard know what really works? Do you have a preference for which work better? Turbocharging vs supercharging? What's your setup on the very nice red car which looks like it's a dedicated street vehicle for fun? Bob S.
Both! Street and show. Have dual 45 DCOEs for the non-racing track stuff. https://sphotos-a-atl.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/180145_140825525978642_5040119_n.jpg But usually have a single performance DMTR Weber for driving/sitting in traffic around here. https://sphotos-a-atl.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash2/185865_3650133247268_605615242_n.jpg
agreed i had a 2.L with 42-82 aquatti cams on both dual 42 DCNF and a DMTRs set up. the DMTR was a much better set up for street use. Dare i say quicker in real world traffic situations? probably down 10hp on the top end but much more usable down low.
Browsing about on youtube tonight, I found a recently posted video of my Lancia from 2-3 years ago. Not recognizable now, it has been painted Pozzi Blu. If you look on the back window, my avatar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZW6uC2EqLk
Just found this Scorpion/Montecarlo thread. I had the same pairing in the 1980s. Still have the Scorpion. My Beta Coupe had dual DCOE and the Scorpion has dual DCNF. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v670/ic-racer/ScorpionandBetaCoupe.jpg
A bit off topic, but I would be interested in acquiring a Lancia Flavia Coupe` Iniezione. Would appreciate if anyone has any lead.
