I was reading as story where a Chinese company makes fake Ferrari's and sells them for $40K. The short video of a 430 knock off looked pretty real from the outside. The interior was an immediate give away. Has anyone else heard or seen this? I wasn't sure if it would be alright to post the link or not?

    Looks like another internet joke.
It's a real Ferrari and people are falling over themselves to prove how badly it is replicated.
Authors in the meantime are falling over laughing.

It sure looks real to me. There are way too many details that are correct.
I'm guessing it's a joke. If it was Chinese, they would have called it a Fellali

That looks like a real 360. And the location is more likely in JAPAN - no Chinese writing on shop displays, only Japanese and English.

Probably another hoax - it's horribly expensive to fake a Ferrari that well - would cost more than the real thing. A 360 coupe only costs as little as $80k. Why go to so much trouble and copy a 360, why not a 16M instead? Almost same amount of hassles, 3x the value.

Just had a better look. My bad! You're right - it *is* a F430. I only skipped across the video and should have noticed - but normally, it's the huge black intakes that scream "F430!". This is the first F430 of any sort that I've seen with painted intakes.

Not surprised though. Japanese owners don't seen to worry about maintaining the factory look.

Tax is 100%+ in China so double whatever a 430 costs elsewhere.

I do believe there are chinese Ferrari knockoffs...but they probably dont look as good as that one.

The Chinese do make fake BMWs, so it doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility, even if not in this case.

This wreaks of the "SuperReplicas" scam. Their formula was very simple and they conned allot of people from Dubai to England.

    1) Setup on an obscure part of the globe, (Panama, Indonesia, Mexico, etc)
    2) Video a genuine Ferrari/Lamborghini they rented and advertise it as a replica they can build for you
    3) Take deposits wired to accounts in banks located in these obscure countries
    4) You send the money and never hear from them again

Can you post a Chinese BMW? I would love to see what they did. I bet they can't imitate the good handling characteristics!
Did they imitate it accurately, and include BMW badges, or does it just kind of look like a BMW?

The label on the car says azzurre motoring and I checked out the azzurre-motoring.com website. Seems impossible that they would be able to replicate all those cars with such fine detail.....it's gotta be a hoax.

Most of the content was written in japanese (or maybe it was chinese, what do I know?) but I am curious if they actually list pricing and describe what it is.

NO, don't worry, I AM NOT going to order one...

Google "fake Chinese BMW x5" and you can see it. They had one on Top Gear a few episodes back.

I don't really see it as a clone, or fake. I think it's different enough. Just a quick look at the rear. The side rear glass is a totally different shape, the hatch and bumper look different, the license plate isn't even mounted in the same place, rims and tires are small, and look cheap etc. They did, however, come close on the styling of the side steps. To me, it looks like they wanted similar styling, but didn't want an exact (or even close) copy. Reminds me of a teenage girl doing the same hairstyle as a famous person, so they can look like them.
I think that the Mazda CX-9 is just as close (or closer) to the Porsche Cayenne!
