Anyone going to this, or been in the past? We may be passing through Birmingham that weekend, and have thought about trying to catch some of the races over that weekend. Any tips or recommendations? Does FCA or any local car clubs have any type of club parking lined up?

There is a "speciality car" corral but it isn't sponsored by any particular group. They all come and join in.

Sounds good. Do we need to register ahead of time or get on a list somehow, or just show up and ask for directions to the specialty corral?

You need to buy a corral pass in advance throught the website. I cannot be there this year so I haven't checked availability.

The museum is obviously a big attraction. Also not a bad viewing spot from the large windows in the rear.

While passing through on the way home from Atlanta, coledoggy and I got to catch the afternoon Continental Sports Car Series race. It was my first visit to Barber, and WOW what a facility! Racing was good too (man those Aston Martin Vantages are LOUD!), we walked around a bit then enjoyed most of the race from one of the big tents behind the Fan Zone. Wasn't able to stay for the big Indy race today, but definitely plan to be back for it next year. Also checking out the rest of the Barber calendar for some other races to come to later this year.

I had a friend call me up and ask if I wanted to go last Friday... we went down at 6am from Nashville and returned at 8:30pm. Fun day! That museum is insane. The Surtees Ferrari F1 158 was worth the price of admission alone. You forget how small those cars really were back in the day!

The race was so-so in my opinion. The track needs to be stretched out 100 yards or so for Indycar. Doesn't seem like there's enough time to close up to overtake with an regularity. Beautiful facility, though. I heard the GT race was much better. I'd go again. Good times!
