So, I was on an on-ramp to an interstate & floored her in 2nd to hear her sing her song. I didn't think I red-lined her (was watching the road & listening to the engine), but the engine was high RPM and then started to "sputter". Sounding almost like a ricer turbo running full-tilt. I backed right off and not a CEL was thrown nor any sign of issue. Was I bouncing off the limiter?
I've had her darn close to red-line before and never experienced this.

I've only ever hit a limiter once before in a new Chevy & the engine just sort of shut-down until I backed off.

Sounds like you did hit the limiter. No big deal to hit it and bounce off. But don't ever stay there.
