Boy, you hit the nail on the head with that one! People saying it's too early in the season - now is the time to make sure your WDC-capable driver maximizes his points. When there are 1-2 races left, it's too late. We all know Webber isn't WDC material, so what is the point in gifting him race wins? Let Vettel mathematically win the WDC first, then they can give sympathy wins to soothe Webbers fragile ego.
No more team orders RB translation: We need to do a better job in coding what we say in the open mic.
You "didn't mean it"?. F.U. dude! As I said above, I really think he *may* have learnt a lesson here. He seems genuinely surprised at the negative reaction his action received. It'll take another WDC or two (not easy) before this little episode is forgiven IMO. Arguably, he'll never be forgiven and his career will always remain tainted. Cheers, Ian
What is? He ****ed his teammate. He ****ed his team. He ****ed himself. Nothing ridiculous, just the way it is; Again, you never, ever, put yourself above the team. It'll haunt him forever IMO. Cheers, Ian
While not a huge fan of Watson, I think he's spot on here; They have indeed created a monster. Or at the very least allowed said monster to grow out of control. I suspect this will haunt them for a long time. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch (outside of Mclaren of course ) Cheers, Ian
Would never be an issue if he were with Ferrari.......hmmm, 2016 could not come soon enough for Ol' Seb if the contract info is true. That being said, I hope Fred whips his a$$ the balance of the season.
But most of us seem to agree that the team orders were wrong. No excuse, just stupid decisions all around.
+1 A forced apology is so bad, it makes it even worse than not apologizing at all IMO. A forced apology is the symbol of not having a spine, whilst not apologizing shows you stand for something you believe in.
Not apologizing in the face of reality and in the context of violating an agreement you made in good faith is classless. F1 is not about what you believe in so to speak. Certainly not in this instance.
BBC Sport - Sebastian Vettel: I may disobey Red Bull orders again Not saying anything at this point would serve him well. I wonder how he can sit on the pitwall and drive at the same time LOL! Sad but true. He needs to move on and just drive.
Agreed, this is just silly Seb... End of the day IMO he needs Web on side to make his 4th title easier to win.
Interesting. Seb turning on Webber. This is going to be a great season. BBC Sport - Sebastian Vettel: I may disobey Red Bull orders again
It's a bit disappointing that on a forum of "serious" F1 fans there should be so much support for turning the sport into a soap opera and a demolition derby.
No argument there. IMO this sort of thing is inevitable when you debase the sport for the sake of the show. F1 has little self respect these days and the fans pick up on that. Sorry state of affairs.
This is true. And he really doesn't need to, he is the chosen number 1 @ RB. I think Bernie may disagree, it keeps F1 in the spotlight, not that I agree with him..
Yes. You can just see the Vettel career highlight reel in 20 years time tainting his career by winning the race and not taking his team mate out in the process. Scandalous. At least Senna trashed his career by crashing Prost off the track in Japan. Oh wait- he's seen as a God.
