That's part of the problem ....if you drove it back down to a tired state, then I would agree....but this mentality that they all should be 30k because know one else will ever spend 80 on a mint one is nonsense.

Oh, my car is an '82, the lowly 2v, but that IS what I wanted. I love them all, but I didn't want carbs, of course IF I would've found a nice 4v I would've bought it. Still kicking myself for NOT buying one from a member here, blue EURO GTBqv, man I love the looks of that front treatment. April 10th here and still way too cold and too much snow to drive an exotic, the snow is melting but the roads are a mess!

My father is selling his 1979 308 GTS. It's not new and it's not $80k.

It's got all of 20,476 miles on it. He's owned it for the last 25 years.

    Symbolic just listed a 1978 308 GTS with 33k miles for $49,500.

Was the car kept in an extra moist garage? Still lop $50K off the price and it's a great deal.

Stepping back for a moment and forget the "what's it worth" per number of units and other cars that have escalated in value.

What cars capture your senses and why?

Muria, 904, 906, Stratos, 275, 250swb, Alfa tippo 33, Alfa TZ2, Cangarou. (for me anyway)

A great engine design making wonderful sounds, a body design that has beauty in any angle. Italian heritage, front or mid-engine.

If you have $1,000,000.00+, and the means to support one of these classics then your a rare and lucky individual.

It is not possible, let me repeat, not possible to match or even come close to filling the list of desirable attributes from the list of cars mentioned.

I once saw a silver 904 on Muhullond Drive 30+ years ago, once.

Once a 288 in Brentwood California. Once a Zagato in Brentwood. I did see an Enzo on Sunset Blvd. entering Brentwood on the way to it's untimely splitting apart on Kanan Rd.

Like a lot of people I'll be going to Monterey and be treated to some of the most beautiful automotive designs and history. Hopefully, most car enthusiasts will as well.

For a sports car that shares the refinements and styling of the mentioned cars and would be within reach of an average person is remarkable. At least that's how I find the 3 x 8 Ferraris.

I consider myself fortunate to own a '89 328gtb after lusting over the muscle cars when new. Then finding my perspective changed the day a 330p3/4 fly by me at Riverside raceway. My life was never the same.

If your an owner of a 3 x 8 Ferrari your very lucky.

If you own any F-car you are very lucky and a 3x8 is just icing on the cake. It would do us all good if we stepped back occasionally from our demanding lives and just remembered how truly blessed we are. :)

Great perspective. That's pretty much it in a nutshell.
What something is worth to one guy doesn't necessarily work for another.

I dont think their is nothing wrong with the price. If someone really wanted a 1978 308 GTS, thas is basically new, this might be the only one in the world.

Absolutely right. Nothing wrong with the price if the car reflects it. There are lots of +80K 308/328's out there. They just change hands quietly. I've seen several in person and they are remarkable cars. The guys that buy them don't mess around with Fchat and they don't feel the need to tell everyone...and they don't sell on ebay.
