I have had great experience with pirelli pzero nero a/s, they have a nice ride, good breakaway characteristics on my 3.2cab. I drive to the colder season, so I value the a/s although I understand there is a summer only version. And they are made in Italy :)

I swear by PS2s as a summer performance tire. Had them on my Infinity G35 coupe. Got 'em on my Mondial T. I have modified 360 Modena rims btw. Run them at 37 PSI all around. Not recommended for ambient temps below 45 degrees F. They get real hard. I have A/S Michelins on my Acura (came with them). Also a great tire.
I believe a great tire can save your life. No matter how good a driver you are and how fast your reflexes are, in an emergency situation, it's the tire that makes the difference. Regarding tires, money should never be an issue.

I have Pirelli P Zero's on the front size 235/45 ZR 17 and Pirelli P Zero's on the back size 255/40 ZR 17 and the rears look to small. The rears need replaced. Would anyone know the size P Zero to match up with the fronts. Also my speedo is 10 MPH faster than I'm going.Any input would be great.

    Hi Robert,

You're oversized on your fronts at 235/45 - - should be 225/45 for correct tire height. As for the rears, by going from an almost perfect height and width obtained with 255/45, to a 40 ratio, your tire diameter drops significantly (almost a full inch of tire diameter). To get the proper height (diameter) in a 40, you would need a size that got you to between 25.7" and 25.9" - - - and with that 40 ratio and the increased size overall, you could possibly encounter clearance problems as well as that (possibly more important) funky, out of balance "stickie outie rear tire look". :(:(:( Don't follow that course.

Hey, you've got to change the rears - - may as well get a nice & proper full set.

    Cheers, Hank

I purchased a set falken 452's (z&w rated) last week and took a 3 day weekend up and around hwy 1 (Big Sur, CA); 850 miles of fantastic driving, from High speed, to tight twisties, I think anyone would be hard pressed to get more (summer) tire perfomance for the money @$435.00 a set.

Damn Australian prices. I just fitted a set to my 348 wheels and they came in at more than twice your US price!!

    Great tyres though :D

Hi Hank, My fronts are 24 1/2" high (235/45/17) and the backs are 24" high (255/40/17). So are you saying if I got the 255/45/17 they would be the same size? And for the fronts they only have 3000 miles on them. It would break my heart not to use them.

Changing wheel or tire sizes from original may affect performance and speedometer readings. For example, if wider rear wheels are installed, remember to use spacers to widen the front wheelbase; otherwise, cornering will be compromised.

Hill Engineering is a good resource for wheel and tire modifications.

Check this tire chart - - TIre Height Chart

255/45/17 for the rears would be about right (25.7"). BTW, you didn't mention the width of your front and rear rims. That's a huge ingredient in the overall recipe.

    Cheers,

    Hank

My wheels/rims are 9" wide in the front and 10" wide in the back both land 1/2" inside the fender lip. After reading your post I did some measuring with a couple straight edges and my wheels are inline. I have no clearance problems. The car only has some tracking on rutted pavement. I would think it do to the wider rears.

Respectfully, I'll guess that most of your tracking issues are due to the overly wide 9" front rims. Don't forget, 7" fronts are what came standard.

But hey, if you're OK with all of this BS, then simply drive on. But, and don't yell at me - your (tiny) rear tires don't belong on your car. Get that resolved ASAP ! :):)

    Cheers, Hank

I have used Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus on several sports cars, and have been extremely pleased with the tire, especially the handling and tire balance.

On a BMW I could tell before I got out of the tire store parking lot that the car handling was dramatically improved.

I currently have them on my Mondial QV.

I have P Zero's on a 550 and will likely put Michelin tires on when I replace the tires.
