About a year ago I sold my full set of original Cavallinos on ebay and Ferrari chat. I offered the complete set with 18 Cavallino Red Binders for $2000-2500 + post/courier and got no offers as the shipping was really pricey. So I split up the set and sold the first 40 issues individually and the remainder in lots of 10 issues at $40 each. No buyers on the lots but the first 40 sold well with #2 fetching $325. eventually I sold the latest 40 issues for $80. As for Forza I sold all 125 issues for $500 + postage to a buyer in Alberta ($4 each). I took me quite a while to find all the issues and some were pricey but it has to do with the print runs and that is what makes issue #2 so rare that the print run was adjusted for subscribers and #1 had a larger print run for promotional use. The weight of these issues make selling the whole sets almost impossible. Besides the first 40 issues sold for more that the other 145 issues combined so you are better to split it up on ebay and let people bid. besides most bidders probably have a Ferrari in their garage (LOL!) Cheers! Terry Jones Ottawa, Canada
True I think it seperates ferrari fans/enthusiasts to two groups. 1.F1 fans and only new models of Ferrari 2.Enthusiasts of Ferrari history and everything regarding Ferrari. So who wants to buy full set of Cavallinos or Forza should be real enthusiast and i think there is not so much like in group 1 for modern fans. That s my opinion about selling of Cavallinos etc.
Hi Alan- That was me, many years ago. But, it was the first 125 or so issues and they were 25 cents each! It was the red boxes were thrown in for free. They were being sold by a thrift shop benefiting the local public library, not the library itself. In all likelihood, they had been donated after someone passed away and I was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time. I do suspect that this sort of thing happens more often than one might imagine.
George Comcast have blocked my email address and I don't seem to be able to get it unblocked. So just to say, I have received all your emails and I know the magazines have arrived safely. Mark

Well, I was surprised to read up-thread that the red Cavallino boxes are out of stock. I've been procrastinating buying some, as I have a full set of Cavs but need about six cases for loose issues. If anyone has some for sale please PM me. Thanks. Jack
Occasionally I'll emerge from the shadows to check in on the Cavallino discussion here on FC. Love to see my story is still being passed around! BigTex: thanks for keeping me in mind. Yes, that was a glorious day at the library and one that has gone down in folklore history with my friends. I contemplated selling my "library find" last year but I came to my senses and they're still tucked away, individually stored, climate controlled.... occasionally I'll take on out for a nice read. They really are fantastic pieces of Ferrari literature. I don't know much about Cavallino, like BigTex said... I'm a P-car guy. But in my travels I've spoken to some other collectors at shows, etc. Sounds like #2 is the most desirable for reasons mentioned before - production numbers dropped after #1 to meet realistic subscriber demand. Would love to hear more about what articles or features are in demand. Hope you all are doing well!
if somebody has some earlier Cavallinos for sale in Germany,Austria area for sale please PM Thanks Julius
