2013 NY Tri-State Spotters Thread

Saw a yellow Gallardo Spyder on the way to work yesterday morning. Lambo was travelling south on Carleton in Central Islip.

 

Driving home from a business trip in Massachusetts, I saw a black 458 on I-95 in Connecticut. Then, just before I got on the Tappan Zee Bridge, a HOT Porsche R-Gruppe style car. This car was a dead ringer for Jack Olsen's car, with 2 exceptions (at least from what I could tell as it was fairly dark) - it was a targa and it was blue or gray, not black.

Saw a droptop Rolls-Royce Ghost in Saddle River yesterday.

 

I've only ever seen one of them in person. It was back in 2011 at Monticello Motor Club owned by one of the guests who was attending the Porsche World Roadshow just like my father and I were attending as well. The car looked pretty awesome in person and with talking to the owner of it, he mentioned to me that there are only 2 options on the car that you can choose from. The color, either the blue you mentioned, or a white color. The only other option available for it in the US was a fire extinguisher mounted inside the cabin. Its pretty damn crazy how expensive these cars were in comparison to the regular Cabriolet variants that you could purchase. It was right around $200,000 and that made it pretty much double the cost. Now obviously its much more rare and special with the modifications done to it just like Speedster's of the past. Anyway, heres what the thing looked like that day, which is to say it looked pretty damn awesome with its modern interpretation of the Fuchs in 19". There was a 911 GT2RS there as well that I got a crappy cellphone image of but it wasn't one of the cars available to drive and was brought by Porsche just to display its ultimate 997 911 model for the guests attending the World Roadshow. It was inside a tent that housed all of the registration and paperwork for people attending the event. All the other cars that Porsche had brought along for display were parked outside as well as all of the cars that were available for testing on the road and the ones available to drive on the track. Drove every 997.2 model up from the base C2 up to the GTS with everything including cabriolets in there as well. Also drove all of the variants of the 987 Boxster/Cayman from the base versions up to their ultimate variants, the Boxster Spyder (most fun car I've ever driven) and the Cayman R.

White Maserati GranTurismo (I think it was an MC Stradale) southbound on Park Ave in the 30s.

 

Saw this rare gem yesterday in my town. In talking to the owner, turns out he lives right across the street from me. It's the ONLY Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition in Matte Black in the world.

Yesterday afternoon I was driving my Testarossa on Route 55 heading towards the Shore Points, when I came upon a Red F430. I think you jumped off on Route 49 if I am not mistaken

Red Maserati GT on Rt. 17 in Paramus this morning.

 

Dark red Quattroporte, white Viper RT10 and white Tesla Model S (do we still mention that?) in Paramus today.

 

It was like seeing BIG FOOT! hehe. I'm in Edgewater, NJ.

Ferrari F355 Spyder in Red on NJ Turnpike South between exits 10 & 8A this afternoon. Was brand new to owner (had no plates) and looked just as good, 16 years later!

 

Workin on that! My son and I saw him drive by again today. Thing sounds incredible!
