Has anyone heard (thats you Will)... if/when the event will be for 2013?
Dream Ride will be on June 1st this year with a similar format to last years event. Start at the store for a drive to Atlanta Motorsports Park for the festivities. AMP did such a fantastic job with this last year that we are thrilled to once again be holding our event there. More info to come in the next two weeks.
Hi Will, Please count me in. I have a young man, 10 years old who has just finished his brutal chemo and radiation some 2 weeks. He is on the road to recovery, I expect that by June 1st, he should be in good riding condition. Please email me the needed documentation for the Dream Ride. Thanks for all you do!!! Ciao, George
I'm in, as always. I just hope that I get a passenger this year! It's been a bit lonely the last couple - I guess that 328s don't have the "pull" for kids that the newer cars have.....
The event is coming together and we are all getting excited to make it a great one. Stay tuned for more info. Also, please know we appreciate everyone's support of this important day in the lives of some great kids.
Hi Will, If the child has received their cancer treatment at Scottish Rite or Emory Winship Cancer Center, does this preclude them from registering/participating in the Dream Ride event? Ciao, George
We are getting close! Last year, we had more kids (105?) than cars so get the word out to all your exotic car friends and acquaintances. I dug up the TV news feature from last year. For those of you who may be new to this event, and unaware of the huge smiles on all the kids' faces, take a look for a little motivation. As we were just open less than a month at the time of the video, the facilities and grounds have improved quite a bit! Hope to see you there! Good question, Jim. Maybe he cut in line to jump at his once in a lifetime opportunity to ride in a "Magnum PI" car?
are 113 kids to 70 cars. Looks like we will have another great event this year. Similar format to last year with a few minor tweeks the main one being a police escort through Alpharetta to 400. Will make negotiating all the lights and merges easier for our group. For all of you that signed up, THANK YOU! Your time on Saturday will make a difference for these kids. And once again a huge shout out to Trip and Jeremy at AMP for being our hosts.
Actually, when it was time to "saddle up", no kid had come to my car, so I asked him if he wanted a ride. (His son had ridden with me the year before, and had chosen another car this time.)
Trip. I know AMP has a noice Db restriction. Any issues with cars for this event (eg. where some have the flaps open at xxxx RPM)
Will. Just confirming.... We can have someone head to FOA (then to AMP) with us for the event correct? (Wifey along to take pics while up there....etc).
The sound limit should be ok for the kids ride alongs, and will apply for the hot laps. We didnt have any issues last year, and rarely do we have a car over sound limits. We also have inserts that help in the rare event that they are required. Looking forward to seeing everyone this Saturday! Trip
Bob, feel free to bring your bride Always good to have your better half around. Meal count is tied to registrations so please be understanding that it will be tough to provide meals to guests that didnt register along with drivers. Three days to Rides! We are excited and once again the weather is shaping up nicely!
Will.. Thanks... Just wanted to confirm. (I know we do these then, I come home and wish I took more pictures). SEE YOU ALL THEN!!!!
