Great turnout today, had a blast!
Do we want to do this every Saturday, or every-other Saturday? I'm thinking if we go every-other saturday, more folks would be inclined to show-up and not blow it off, but either way is fine with me.
We can make it a weekly or a bi-monthly. The key is to get the word out so that as people go on vacation and to the Cape etc.- we always have at least a bunch of us who can make it. Hopefully we'll have warmer temps next time!
Jay and I were talking about having these cars n' coffee's at the Starbucks/Barnes & Noble in the Shoppers World parking lot in Framingham on Rte 9. I was going to see if we could put a flyer in the window of both stores to see if we can attract more people. Thoughts I'd be happy to be the guy to send out invites to the events. I was going to create a page for MWCnC as well. I may have some time to do that tonight. Just send your name, email and car info to [email protected] and I'll keep an invite list. I think once or twice a month is fine. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
We're closer to I495 and the Mass Pike Exit #12 at the Southborough location.....I'm reluctant to move east, unless there's a logical reason.
Primarily to grow the event and use the high traffic of the two stores to attract more people. To get a larger regular crowd going for metro west.
Great time Sunday. Great people and great cars. Thanks for making a Porsche guy feel welcome. Also great to see another Porsche there Matt
I prefer the Southborough location as well, as it's better for those of us further West. But I can see that the Framingham one might pull more traffic.
My vote would be twice a month and keep it Southborough. It close to the Pike, 495 and on RT 9. Plenty of parking in the lot behind the lot that we parked in on Sunday. - Ron
...or alternatively, perhaps a similar event could be started on the Cape so folks like me could attend.
We'd love to have you come-out. We have folks who travel to our location from Bedford, New Hampshire, the North Shore, and Springfield.
Thanks for the invite Michael, but that would involve driving back over that bridge and returning to the dreaded real world on a late spring or summer Sunday which, for us Cape types, is very hard to do. Plus, the stallion would likely dig in its heels and refuse to start!
Sorry too busy gabbing to take many photos... It was better attended than these photos show. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
LOL.....what is this 'Cape' place, a point on the Bermuda Triangle? I've been in MA since 2005, and haven't been down there yet. All I hear-about are mobs of tourists, horrible traffic, and grumpy locals. PLENTY of reason to drive west and escape that crap - Sunday AM, the roads are pretty 'open' on the Pike....
Michael, if you want to skip coffee at Starbucks on Route 9 some Sunday morning and have some real fun, then jump in the 308 and head on down across the bridge to Falmouth. After some coffee to steel your nerves, I'll let you follow me (if you can keep up) on my usual 40 mile back road Sunday drive that has virtually every type of turn, both uphill and downhill as well as decreasing and increasing radius, and even lots of interesting straights with breathtaking ocean and wooded views. The best part is the virtual absence on that run of any cops. Then you'll see why it's hard for us Cape types to leave on a summer Sunday. And if you bring an adult diaper with you, I'll take you on the same route on the back of my Harley. Then you can head back to Worcester on those "open Pike roads" and compare the experience. Simply PM me a day or so in advance.
I know it was decided that this meet was going to be bi-monthly...but it is going to be beautiful on Sunday. Any interest in doing a Cars and Coffee this weekend? 68 degrees and SUNNY!
Done deal. And as a bonus I'll give you a private viewing of never seen before (except by me, of course) photos not only from the race, but from an incredible 2 day drivers' reunion held at Brock's house in Wyoming, New York. And yes, the blue Daytona was parked in the driveway all that weekend!
I'll be there at 9am tomorrow with my Rosso 458. If its only three of us that's fine, I like any excuse to drive my F car on a Sunday morning when traffic is light. See you in he morning.
I might be up for it but w/o the ferrari. Still wrenching on it. I saw a beautiful 458 convertible this morning at shoppers world.
