Hi All, Does anyone know where the OBD II port is located on my car, it is a 1991 TB, UK car. I see there is a lead near both ECU's behind the drivers seat but these do not fit my OBD reader. Is there another port or are these smaller connectors what I should use? If so can you get an adapter for my standard reader to work or what reader do I need to buy if not OBD II? Thanks again for all your good advice.
I think OBDII only began in gen 2 355 Also most queries have been asked and answered before either here or at my348.com - always worth checking first
Thanks fopr that. The my348 refers to US spec cars and sometimes things are different in Europe I think. It is a great site though. What tool do I need to read the codes from my 348? Is there something I can get on ebay? Thanks for your quick response.
No tools needed. Here is a good video by LouB747 (current member), I couldn't find the thread that this was posted in but the video is helpful http://www.youtube.com/watch?client=mv-google&gl=CA&hl=en&v=PKFhGWLM0i0&nomobile=1 and the thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355/347583-well-had-happen-eventually.html --
550tim...I don't think UK models had the switch fitted standard. I just made up a simple short lead with switch, bared the ends and poked them into the socket by the ECU, identifying which terminals by wiring diagram. The codes and how to do it, with lots of links are available on my348.com site, or from search on here.
Thanks All, dapper or anyone do you know what pins to short on plug from ecu to act like the US switch and run the diagnostic function? Or a link to the wiring diagram would be good so I can check. Thanks in advance Tim
550Tim, I'll have to dig out my notes in garage tomorrow eve. I must have used a US wiring diagram showing the test connector switch to have sussed which wires to close circuit with switch.
