Just wanted to congratulate you on this GTE project. It's probably one of the most extensive restorations out there.

I had made an observation that you will want to correct before putting fluid in the brake lines, as the line that goes from the master to the booster, and the booster to the brakes, is backwards.

Also, if you need any help on the correct finishes, for instance on the suspension arms, hardware throughout, brake caliper brackets, brake calipers, water pipes, etc. As well as the correct type hardware used originally. I'd be happy to help.

    Best Regards,
    Greg Jones

Excellent thread and restoration. Thanks for the photo-documentation.

Can you tell me what material you used to 'sand-blast' the carbs? Also, what process/material was used to strip the paint?

Greg, your right! It is backwards - what an error :) Thanks a lot!
    I sent you also email.

Rob, carburettors are blasted with "nut shells" and other details with "glass beads".
    Body paint is stripped mechanically.

"Salva Brevattivo" fuel lines and fittings. With the car came ordinary rubber fuel hoses made with hydraulic fittings. Luckly one of them were original with correct Salva fittings where we got a good example for our skilled lathe man. When the lathe work was completed I took them to engraving. Font size should be a little less as I told them but they turn out like this.

Fantastic job Martin. I know exactly what you are going through, mine took 5 years to complete, the detail you are going to is astonishing, well done.

This is an old advert that I found somewhere showing the color of the horns. I am not sure if they are the same model as yours, but the color should be the same.

Can they be luggage loops, at least that is what the shape suggests? A GTE owner can tell if they are original.

    Grant, many thanks!
John, should be checked, thanks for hint!

Now I am in trouble with lights. I can not find any screw holes for glove compartment light and also trunk light. Where they are located there?

    Regards
    Martin

Here's a couple photographs for original finishes. Note the front water pipe is wrinkle black, the others from the pump and cylinder heads are nickel flashed. Acorn nuts are white cad and most all other hardware is black oxide. Suspension components are nickel flash also. Hope this helps in your restoration project.

    Thanks for the pictures Greg!
No updates from me for a while, so here it is something to show, not too much because every move with the details takes a lot time to fit them perfect on the car.

The steering wheel column is now in one piece ready to assamble when the dashbioard is placed. All the electrics works except windshield wiper system.

Dashboard and missing ebay rare trim.

We did not have any trim with the dashboard so I looked over day the ebay. In one day after 1 year of searching I got lucky with 99$ + shipping the broken trim. As you all know every ferrari trim piece are numbered for specific car so do you think it matched?! Hehh not!
I bended my thumbs bruise to fit it okay.
