Dude, you of all people should've joined us! All the cars, babes, wine & everything we ever live for. Did u see the pics I posted in our Whatsapp group? The Gala dinner ended with a 20mins fireworks & live music performance by 80's singers. Paul Young, Howard Jones etc.
By the way Jon, thought you might wanna take a look. Stumbled upon it while searching for something just now.. Ferrari DINO GTS - Cars for sale Selangor - Mudah.my
Ah yes, thanks for the reminder. Sent my mechanic to check it out last month but it requires at least Rm100k to put right & that's not to concours standard. Priced out of market too. Poor owner lost it to the wife in a bitter break up
Did a beautiful photoshoot last weekend and the highlight of this photoshoot was MaxPower's lovely limited edition F599GTO and a sexy white F458 belonging to SW73. You'll make us very jelous my friend. Also a lot of the kids(aka Exotic car hunters, 16, 17 year olds) kept asking me over facebook to let them do some photoshoots so I decided to make their day. We put together quite a few Maseratis(including my MC Stradale), 2 Ferraris, 2 Porsches and a GTR. Thank you MaxPower(MP) and Steve for being a part of this event. You'll sure did put a big smile on the photographers faces. Reading up the May issue of Thoroughbred & Classic Cars. Ferrari has been ranked by Marketing Finance as the World's most powerful brand placing it above Google & Coca-cola. On another hand the Classic car industry in UK alone is worth £4.3Billion & keeps 28,000 jobs. An autojumble alone amassed sales worth £2.85mil with half a million VAT for treasury & sustaining 220 permanent jobs. Let's say Singapore's is worth 1/100 of that & we're looking @ 280 jobs & S$86million generating GST of about S$6million. Now why is our Transport Minister still bent on killing classic cars or multiple car ownerships? It's a lucrative business & Classic car owners take pride in their possessions so breaking down & causing traffic jams are minimal. The quality in heritage & culture passed on is priceless but of course both has little relevance in the cabinet these days but surely money rings a bell in their piggy bank, no? Make single car-ownerships like birth control & I guarantee that you'll see a downfall in plenty of sectors. #1 Banks & finance. Go work out how much you'll lose #2 Custom duties & GST. Losses in 7-8 figures. #3 Job losses in Finance, insurance & related sectors including workshops, maintenance, accessories, tyres, batteries etc. #4 Collapse of 2nd hand car industry since one person can only own one vehicle so who you gonna sell to? #5 Vacant industrial parks since motoring industry has died #6 Loss of the 2nd highest income generating tool so you'll start to increase GST & income taxes? You want to control car population? Let private owners do own bidding of COE only & cash upfront just like no plate bidding. No dealers involved otherwise it's all rigged.
I was in UK & my dealer offered his 2008 Rolls Royce Phantom. Car is £130K. Yes you read that right, S$260,000 our dollars but what's eye popping is the road tax is just a tiny £400 = S$800 for a 6700cc V12 engine & insurance? No more than £2K. Think our Honda Civic costs as much I didn't buy it but was chauffeured for a couple of hours touring London & lunch @ the countryside. Now, do you think the Phantom drophead might be more attractive? Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's a good turnout mate, well done! Gals were taken ^^ slurp. kekeke Thanks mate. There's 1500+ photos & I'm wondering how to edit them+posting. It'll be a chore ><"
Thanks King, I'd much prefer spending my days driving in the mountains than counting money in the office. Besides, I'm just an ex-corporal in the SAF while they hired an Admiral from the Navy. Perhaps they need a taxi driver to know our transport problems rather than a boat-boy
It's just finished over the weekend. Sent you guys videos of our friend doing it in his Gullwing. Chris entered his Jag XK120 as well so let's hear from them soon while they recuperate from this arduous drive. But to my BIG disappointment, I just discovered that Ferrari managed to clinch a Tribute to the series as well when they said they couldn't earlier on, well there was a change of organiser which became very bitter & political. I've sold two of my Ferraris & wanted to field the yellow CS. Anyway, at least i did the Lambo event which is very similar & also organised by another ex-MM organiser. Heard that this year's Mille Miglia was a big mess with many delays as you'll typically expect from Italians. Our Lambo event was no exception, our shuttle buses were late, missing or dropped us @ wrong parkings/hotels resulting in late start or returns so some of us took taxis or walked with our luggages & then you have staffs who can tell us "we're Italians & we're very disorganised", thank goodness she's a pretty 1.8m lass perhaps that's how they get things by
A little news here about MM 2013 2013 Mille Miglia Features Record Entry Numbers - NYTimes.com So extra 40 cars were accepted but cannot score points or win trophies which I'm sure participants gladly signed on with the US$10K fee (I would too! & there's 1575 hopefuls) so here's an extra US$400K to the organiser Another interesting observation is the winners are usually the major sponsors. One of my friend was in a race-spec British car & consistently in front of the champion but somehow @ checkpoints that car would arrive earlier A little like Italian soccer During the real Mille Miglia in pre-war years they were won by German brands as we can see who's the boss of Europe then. This annual event is watched by 4+ million people & thousands of support crew. Imagine the revenue passed on to tourism, logistics, shippers etc.
Hi, I am in town on business and wondering where nice cars hang out.....something close to Orchard Road would be nice. Also, Any Automotive stores worth visiting besides the Ferrari Store ? Thanks
