I have had my 360 almost a year now and always enjoy getting something new. Thinking about picking up an 04-05 Lamborghini. Can you share your thoughts between a 360 Modena and Lambo? Which is an overall nicer, more dependable, "attention" getter?

    Thanks all!

I am not a big lambo fan, stick with Ferrari, it is a better car to own!

Why not step up to a F430 coupe or spider?

    Gallardo....sorry I forgot this!

I really enjoy the attention Ferrari. Lambo, etc. get when driving around.

The 04/05 Gallardo had notoriously bad clutch life, which was remedied by swapping in the clutch from the 06+ Gs.

04/05 also had taller gearing that was then fixed in 06, and 06+ had more power and better power delivery due to a better exhaust.

Generally speaking, the Gallardo should be a much more reliable car than a 360 because it has no belts to be changed, and shares a lot of parts with Audi (suspension/brake/interior bits).

That being said, I'd still take a 360 or preferably a 430 over a Gallardo because they seem awfully gaudy to me.

I went from a 430 to a Performante. The 'attention factor' is 10 fold!

Funny- that's one of the only things I don't like about the ferrari! I like the looks and experience/feel of driving it, but not the "showy" nature of the car...sometimes I feel like an a*s stepping out of the car by a shopping center, especially with the uneven economy... I never have that feeling getting out of my other weekend toy (48HP VW beetle) :)

I do like the Lambos- especially the murci, but I like the Ferrari more :) I think the murci is probably a bigger attention getter than the 360 or gallardo- the muci is WILD! What a car!

+1 on the attention....I've had the Murci-Roadster and its definitely more powerful and attention galore but handles like a pig compared to the 360-430. Just a different car all the way around. For myself after owning the 360 Spider then Murci-Roadster now back to another Spider...I just like the drivability of the F-Car more.

    Here's my old girl....she was a beauty :)

I would recommend getting a 2WD version like the Balboni. I've driven a Gallardo and it doesn't compare in handling to my 360.

Driven the Audi Gallardo. Seems very reliable with the infusion of Audi. Obscene attention, at least as much as the 360. Low speed handling is less nimble than the 360, the 360 IMHo just feels more nimble and agile..

I own both a 360 Spider and a 99 Diablo SV. Both are beautiful in appearance. The Fcar is performance luxury. The Diablo is visceral and demanding. Especially since it is only 2 wheel drive

You are right- I was surprised to hear about the more than a few Gallardo owners removing the front wheel drive assembly......

if course we are biased, but i'd even take my much slower 360 over a gallardo. gallardos are great but not as nice to drive. ferrari is also the original versus lamborghini the imitator. just my view i'm sure it'll rile some people up.

i do hope to buy a murcielago one day, if nothing else to experience it for a short while. This may or may not happen though as i want to own several ferraris simultaneously. This may make adding a 3rd or 4th toy car (the lambo) unrealistic.

disclosure: i have drive a 360, 430, gallardo, and murcielago so i'm not just making up stuff.

I traded in a gray '06 Gallardo SE for my CS. ALOT more attention in the G. ALOT better driving experience in the CS. I'll take the driving experience, thank you. :)

    2010-up STS/Superleggera Gallardo > Scuderia > 09-up Gallardo LP560 > Stradale >= F430 > 04-08 Gallardo (incl Superleggera) > 360

Agree with taking the front diff and CV shafts out on the Gallardo.. it just makes the car sooo much more interesting...

I think in all honesty, either car you drive is going to turn heads. It's just whose heads you want to turn. the Gallardo in a flashy color (orange, yellow) is going to get pretty much everyone's attention, wherever you go. Ferraris attract attention from older people, and women. a few of my younger, single friends often remark on how they would like to purchase an F car for the sole reason of "picking up chicks". kinda silly but I hear it quite a bit.

I think Ferrari and Lambo are COMPLETELY different even tho they are such similar classes of car.

Ferrari is purist and exotic. Lambo is rockstar.

I dont think there will be ANY difference in "head turning" status between a 360/430 and a Gallardo. Now, definitely a head turner difference between a Ferrari and a Diablo/Murci!!

I had a friend who owned both a 360 and a Diablo and he said the Diablo is 10 times a bigger head turner.

Personally, I think both Lambo and Ferrari are cool... I just prefer the Ferrari.. Your money, your choice!

I went through the 360/Gallardo comparison when I was shopping for a car a couple of years ago and after driving both, the Gallardo was the better car. However, I snuck a CS in for a drive and for me that was the winner. CS in the garage!
