Thanks, everyone, for investigating this. I'd certainly add my name to the list if a good source is found.
    Cheers,

Maybe this might help, Algar ferrari recommended this place.

    Hi Rob,

Although we can fabricate a replacement trunk carpet, we do not have access to, nor have we ever seen this type of material. If you ever come with it, or something close, we can make it for you.

    Respectfully,

I knew this wasn't going to be EZ. What's the count of folks now looking? One thing that further complicates is the need for different colors. I'd be happy with the blu/blk or the straw yellow/blk.

It might make sense (but cost more) if Re-Originals coordinated. We'd pay him a little more, but he'd control all the colors, and he knows the quality we seek. This assumes we or someone has a source.

A quick update, we have contacted four more european suppliers and are waiting for two samples. We are also talking to a german oldtimer carpet supplier and have assisted him with infos for the reproduction, now waiting for a sample. This specific supplier made the best progress so far.

This is my estimate for carpet color types required in a reproduction run. Keep in mind that the trunk carpet color (type) was based on the interior color and not that many customers choose a red or tan interior. Most interiors seem to have been delivered in beige or black.

    40% Beige
    30% Blue
    20% Tan
    10% Red

Haven't seen this specific carpet in a Lamborghini yet, i fear it really was a one off design for the GT4.

I have only seen the tan/black and blue/black in any GT4. I may be mistaken but think these were the only colors

I haven't been successful so far, have been talking to about fifty carpet manufacturers and factories in Europe. The problem is the availability of the old weaving looms which were capable to process the coarse threads used in the trunk carpet. Some manufacturers can process the correct threads but not the weaving pattern required for the original carpet (see post http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142236302-post57.html for an example of the correct thread but wrong pattern).

Currently talking to a german company, which is positive that it can do the correct style but samples are not excepted until somewhere around spring, unfortunately.

Currently there are only two aftermarket options and after waiting many years, I’m going to have to take the plunge and purchase one of these aftermarkets. It’s better than not having any trunk carpets (having to fill the void)
I've spoken with Lakewell and they don't offer any US versions. Does anyone have experience with ItalianCarParts.Com Thanks

Italian car parts are nice but a bit pricey, even by Ferrari standards!

I've opted to go with World Upholstery & Trim. They are well known quality provider of reproduction upholsteries. Granted the original weave is no longer available, but will secure a piece of the original truck carpet for the future owner (Blue/Black).

There are 3 options and whatever material you choose. The difference is mainly on the texture and looks of the carpet. The Italian Loop for example have very firm loops that looks beautiful as a finished product. Lead time right now is 3-5 business days. The trunk carpet set has about 11 pieces.

    American Loop
    Germany Loop
    Ialian Loop

I just posted this in a different area, sorry for the repost. I also had a problem with World Upholstery… they assured me the trunk carpets would fit; unfortunately they did not. I sent photos showing all the problems. In return, World Upholstery sent photos stating they should fit – ironically, those photos came from the Lakewell site. World Upholstery does not have the US version templates. I had called Lakewell directly before going with World Upholstery, and Lakewell was up front about not having the correct version. World Upholstery is having problems with a variety of models, specifically US vs. EU, and they also had a problem with a fiberglass model. World Upholstery’s first line of defense is to ridicule you. This behavior, which came from the materials manager, gives a poor taste for the company. Weather the storm and don't be influenced by this behavior. I finally pushed it up the food chain and spoke with a woman named Mary – I explained the situation to her, and with a bit of persuasion she approved the refund. The refund did not include the original shipping charge. I was going to hold my tongue, but it’s important for us to be well-informed (lessons learned). Granted, not all situations are the same, but I would recommend finding a local upholstery shop, as they are more geared towards customer satisfaction.

So the company failed to deliver any carpet sample, unfortunately. My search for a weavery in Europe has not been successful at all. Maybe there is someone in NA or Asia which has the equipment to reproduce these carpets?

    Thanks,
    Adrian

Adrian i contacted many times Trinchero(torino), the most important interiors factory, abouth 308 gt 4 trunk carpet. They don't have it ,then i send pictures and asked if they could reproduce the carpet ,i send many e mails and phone calls ,no answer.
I suggest you to contact them, as well , may be they could have more interest if more requests.
    Good luck!

Antonio, thanks for the feedback! It's both a problem having the correct weaving loom for the correct material and the profitability for the manufacturer. What we ask for is a very low volume carpet which is difficult to produce in small amounts and which requires special raw material in the correct colors.

One of the manufacturers we talked to was willing to set this up but the minimum invest would be around $50K in one batch (e.g. 100 carpet sets for $500 each)
