If Coco's rebuild of 0814 is ruled by the courts as being the legitimate 0814 the courts may well rule that 0858 with its new P4 body work is the legitimate P4 #0858. tongascrew

How can one tell about 0814's block? Does it have Le Mans scrutinizing stamps?

Hi Jim: I have pictures I can email you. I'll dig them up and send later. IMHO, obviously original.

Re the St. Jovite accident, Chinetti did not collide with Tom Ashwell's Elva. The Elva crashed on its own, the tank split and burning gasoline ran across the track. Chinetti ran through the burning gas and 0814 was set alight. When he pulled over, the corner workers had to put it out with dirt after their extinguishers ran out. The heavyweight fire fighting equipment was involved with another accident elsewhere on the track. Pictures of the car after the fire show the front of the car was not damaged in any way, so did not touch the Elva.
