Just wanted to do a quick check before I ordered.
    The QA1 for my '80 308 is PN: DS402 &DS502
    Springs: Eibach 1000.250.0300 &1000.250.0350

I am going to buy from Summit. I used to buy from them a lot.

    Thanks for any help.

When I plug them in they say they are no longer available and refer to the DS502 and DS402 as the replacements, so I guess I'm good!!!!

    Thanks for the confirmation Chris!!!

Looks like the QA1 springs are about HALF the price of the Eibach.
I will go QA1 for the springs!!! Thanks for that info!!

Chris, looks like you have the stiffer springs in front. I thought the stiffer springs would be in the rear?? Can you explain this?? (I'm novice in suspension)

Hey believe me, I'm a novice too. :)

I don't remember the reason but that's what I read on how they go. I remember someone busting my chops, in a good way though, telling me I needed stiffer springs. More like 400 up front and 350 in the rear. But that's more in the tracking department.

Maybe someone will chime in on that part.

I hear ya..... I'm going a little stiffer but not too much. I would think the stiffer springs would be in back due to the weight of the engine...
    Hope someone can explain....

I don't. I was just planning on taking a dremmel and slightly notching the A Arms..... from what I understand, it doesn't hurt anything and its only a small notch.

I checked my receipts and DS402 & DS502 are the QA1s I ordered; they changed their part numbers about 2-3 years ago. I also went with stiffer springs, 400's up front and 350's in the rear. I don't track the car, but love the firmer ride.

Cool. Thanks Greg!!! You think I should go 400/350 on the street? I don't really care about ride quality..... its a sports car!!!!!

The 400/350 setup seemed to be the sweet spot when I did my research, some guys went with a softer setup, some more firm...400/350 seemed right in the middle. The shocks also allow you to control compression and rebound...and there are more settings than the original part numbers.

    Hey Guys,

I was one of the first to do the QA-1 setup. I worked directly with a QA-1 engineer and he recommended the 300/250 setup. The higher spring rate for the front I think has more to do with the spring length, than the weight bias. Not sure who started going with the 400/350 setup, but if that works for them...

Also, a misconception is that a harsh ride is due to the higher spring rates. This is incorrect. A harsh ride has more to do with the shock valving (adjustment), than the springs themselves.

    Hi Henry,
Thanks for the info. makes sense to have a higher spring rate for the longer spring.
I think I'm going to proceed with 350/300.

I think I went with 450 Eibach up front. I'm running the front very low, less than a finger width between the tire and the fender.

Thats what I went went with, a little stiff but I like it that way it really improved the handeling. Mine rides low in the front also.

Chris, I just added 350/300 QA1s. How much space do you have between the tire and fender. I love the low look but I have about another half inch to the bottom of the collar.

My car is lowered(by a PO), and I have maybe a fingers width between the 16" tire and the fender. I have never had the tire hit the fender. I know it doesn't have heavy springs in it, so can't explain why.
