World of difference. Now, The old bar were installed with rubber bushings, and I suspect those rubber bushing have deteriorated, and the new ADDCO bars are installed with steel heim joints, so the difference in handling is part bar, and part mounting methods. Relatively speaking, with the factory bars and rubber bushings, the car wallowed like a pig compared to the new ADDCO bars. I had the ADDCO bars set on medium holes front and rear, as some final changes on teh production bars will make it easier to mount to the softest position. I did not attempt to take the car to its limits, as sight distance doesn't allow going faster than about 70 MPH (road is marked 30 and 35 MPH) and things to possibly run into if traction is lost, are too close to the winding, hilly road I tried these on, but the car is much flatter in the turns and feels more precise. That said, some of the county road i was on, is uneven with little dips and those black crack sealant fixes all over, the new bars and solid mounts transmit that unevenness through the steering wheel. I had read about this as a side effect with stiffer bars (the literature called it side to side wallow, the car didn't wallow side to side, the steering wheel just moved rapidly back and forth a little bit), it isn't really objectionable, but it is more pronounced than with the factory bars; on smoother road, this issue isn't there at all. I also have 17" wheels and narrow sidewalls, which are much harsher than the factory 14" rims and stock tires, you may not notice this effect on stock wheels and tires. I would rate the bars as definite go for it. Unless you want a Rolls Royce type ride. Total time to change both bars as about 1 hour, or maybe less after you do it a few times, so if you ever want to temporarily go back to stock bars for some reason, it isn't a big deal. Doug
Nice. I can't wait to get them. Many thanks, Doug, for all the time you put in to get them right. --Woody
Awesome! I can't wait. Doug and Matt did us a great service by working with ADDCO to get these bars made. Thank you both!
I will let Matt do any additional follow ups with ADDCO, as it was originally his project, I was just the fit and try monkey. Doug
Great stuff Doug! I'm traveling, but will call John at ADDCO on Tuesday to confirm final details and shipments. Doug, just to confirm, are you recommending medium setting for front and rear bars when we install?
I am not recommending medium setting, I could install the bars i have on medium easiest, putting them on soft was not optimal until a couple small change i passed on to Ernie are incorporated on the final bars. Has to do with heim joint angle from vertical. Doug
Could someone please toss up the contact info again, so I can throw my hat in the ring for a set? I didn't want to commit until we got word from Doug, but I'm in if he says they're as good as advertised...

I heard from John. He received Doug's changes and is modifying and producing. He expects bars to begin shipping next Thursday or Friday. I'm to call him on Monday for final confirmation/update.
I left a voice mail for John last Thursday. I have not heard back from him yet. Will try again on Tuesday AM.
Have these things been coming through? People having any trouble with installation or anything? I may jump in for a set, although my car has some non-stock suspension bits from a prior owner, so I'm a bit concerned about whether they'll work.
No, i think everybody here knows by now that it probably Will take at least à couple of months taking Addco speed so far in mind.......
Is it just me of is this starting getting pretty annoying. I think Matt started this in good faith but ADDCO does a serious job letting us all down. If the stuff is not delivered in Lets say three weeks I Will cancel my order and try to.get a local shop have a go on it.
It not a matter of time for me, it'S a matter of costumier care. With this attitude, what if there's a problem later. ADDCO made it very clear that Theuns not stick to any promise. Quite worrying when you think of after sales service. About other options, with all the 308s used for the UK Pirelli open class i'm pretty sure I Will be able to find an alternative in the UK
It IS annoying, even though I had no schedule or driving requirements for the new bars. I've avoided calling them myself because I figure the last thing they need is 15-20 of us calling every other week for an update. If they had said up front that delivery would be 6 months to a year away, that would have been fine with me. I'll stick it out, both because I want the bars and because I feel like we committed as a group. I've had Addco bars on other cars and have always been pleased. They just aren't doing a very good job of managing customer expectations. --Woody
John finally returned my phone call this morning. He said bars are shipping later today. I told him that that is the same story he told me a month ago, and yet the bars still haven't shipped. He apologized, and assured me that this time they are shipping. Still not trusting him, we agreed to touch base tomorrow morning to confirm shipment of bars. Bear in mind that this isn't a customer service issue - John is actually very friendly. It's simply a business decision: as others have pointed out, they have customers that order bars by the thousands. We're ordering 15. So it's understandable that they have higher priorities (although, given the ~9 months that this order has taken, not THIS understandable....) I'll post again tomorrow once I confirm with John that all bars have in fact shipped. Matt
I have used their bars for decades and expected to need them on my recently purchased Mondial. All evidence previously gathered led me to believe that. However, something weird happened on the way into to the 100 mph sweeper. No lean. The car seems perfect, and I do not understand why. The bars LOOK stock. They have ordinary rubber bushings. And I know my bushings. Had entire sets of them for previous cars. Further, this car is a lot faster then I expected. First gear is entirely redundant in normal driving. Is it possible there was some sort of special production run? I have modified every single car I have ever owned. True, the windshield wipers on this car only work when the windshield is wet. But other then that. The car almost seems custom built for me. And I know THAT is not true. 1986 Purple Four Seat Ferrari
All bars have shipped! A total of 15 went out. 1/2 of them were sent on Tuesday, the other half yesterday. It appears that we should all expect delivery on or before June 27th. Matt
My friend in the us who is taken care of my bars informed me that his credit card was deducted so it 's happening! Thank you Matt for pulling it ahead.
Well, as of THIS morning there was no deduction from my account & I put in for a front bar way back when. I seriously doubt it was shipped "yesterday" with the "last" of the bars without out them running the purchase through my card first. I'm on the west coast so it was too late to talk to anybody today by the time I saw Matt's latest post. You would think after all this time they would contact the list members to confirm the desire to still order before the final production run? Maybe my info was lost along the way & didn't make it on the list? I guess what people have been saying about their customer service isn't too far off the mark? Oh well, what are you going to do?
