please post your secrets for cleaning the tail light areas. I'm not having much luck getting 100% of the grime out in those tough to get places. thanks

Thanks for the thread Michael, I was referring to the tight body areas and crevices behind the lights, however taking the lenses out will thoroughly clean that area. I have a carb'd 308 with no cats and cleaning back there is an ongoing task. I wonder if there is a spray product that will loosen the dirt and exhaust buildup, then just hose it out.... or maybe I just need to lean out my carbs :)

You may also want to try a product called "iron X" by Carpro. Find it at autogeek
I like to call it a liquid clay bar.
Be sure to read about its applications, etc.
I use in areas where wax cleaners, clay bars, cant reach.
Its outstanding stuff. Their "Tar X" is awesome too and VERY STRONG cleaner.

That impossible wheel weight glue is easily removed with this Tar X. Did I mention that its VERY STRONG cleaner? lol Just beware where u use this, test first.

I use a tongue depressor and a microfiber cloth to get into the slim gap between the lens and the Challenge grill on the 360.

Used to do the same when I had a carbed 308.

clean them and then apply something like opticoat, cquartz finest, 22PLE and your cleaning needs will dramatically decrease

I ordered a bottle of TAR X on line about an hour ago from a Canadian distributor. Those topical protectors you mentioned sounds like a good idea also

I received the TAR X on Friday. Just finished detailing the tail light area. The exhaust grime and everything else came off with ease. I used all suggested methods of getting into the nooks & crannies and the rear end looks fantastic. The product completly removed the wax but no paint came off. I used some Meguires cleaner, then wax to bring the paint back to a nice shine. No damage to plastic parts, but I didn't leave it on those very long per instructions. It just lifts the dirt right off. made from orange peals, smells good too

Also, The wheels on my Jag were very dirty with road grime and tar. They too look new again. I had actually given up on them as every thing I tried wouldn't work. That stuff cleans bugs right off the front end after leaving the spray on for about one minute.

    thanks for the suggestion, Easyrider7467
