    thats a great article and a very lucky experience. Hopefully one day I will get a chance to ride shotgun in one of these beasts one day and then eventually own one of course.

    Gotta turn the key before you can push the button. Maybe he held the button down and turned the key. Need to try that.

    Well, the article says: "Twist the key one notch and hear the fuel pumps whirr for a second or so, then turn it a bit more—a conventional sounding starter motor spins"

    I would have expected a reference to the pushbutton start on such a memorable experience, as precious few street cars had pusbutton starters in 1990. Now if you hold the button and turn the key, I am sure the starter will turn over.

    only a guy who was NOT driving can remember the experience as a calming effect on his day....the actual experience is anything BUT calming. good description of the doors tho.

    My first ride in the F40 was mindbending and I remember every moment of it. I've had several more since and every time its an amusement park for the senses... pretty much like the sensation of being shot out of a cannon except the F40 is more exhilerating. I'm Lutheran, but this car got more 'Jesus Christs' out of me than a Sunday Church service! Always appreciative of rides in 'the go-kart"!!
