I'll be going to the church of Ferrari. (After church ofcourse) New pads and rotors all around. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Out of curiosity (and as a prospective 355 owner), can you share some details such as where you purchased from, costs, brands, etc? How many miles were on your existing brakes and rotors? Best of luck with the job, too!
Yep, that's what they are. There is a set of full chrome ones on Ebay for like $5000 with some curb rash.
I just got the car in December so I'm not sure on the brake mileage. I'm pretty sure the rotors are from the factory so almost 34K on them. The fronts are not too bad but the rears are pretty tore up, Not sure why. I figured I'd just start fresh all around. The rotors I got are OEM Ferrari from Continental Motor Spots in Hinsdale, IL - $610.00 plus shipping for all 4. I got Hawk Performance brake pads for $107 front and $107 rear. I'm going to flush the brake and clutch lines while I'm at it too. Hopefully get my e-brake adjusted and working also. Should be a productive weekend.
Thanks for the info - I agree with the others here... that's definitely a great deal on the rotors. For roughly $800 in parts, that's a pretty sweet deal. For someone who's gone through a brake job at a Ferrari dealer, I'm curious what the going rate is...
Roughly $1500 parts and labor. The PO had racing pads on the car when I bought it which squealed like a stuck pig. In replacing the pads I elected to have the rotors replaced for the pads to bed properly (car also had 36k miles). The brake fluid looked like coffee it was so old.
Well, I have a confession to make. Instead of doing the work to the car it really needs, I decided to go on a 360 mile bug collecting expedition. I guess there's always next weekend. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well after a couple of weeks of not getting the swap done I've decided I'm going to go with bigger brakes. These pads and rotors will be in the for sale section if anyone is interested.
