Yes indeed!
What service history can there be with 11K on the clock? It is a beautiful car, with a very elegant interior, priced very reasonably, IMO. You can probably negotiate the price a bit and with the $$ you save pay for the PPI.
re: the ppi. when i asked about arranging a ppi the owner of the "lot" mentioned he'd entertain it if the inspection would be done at his location. he said a ppi was done when they got the car and showed no problems, implying i had nothing to worry about. uhhh...ok. car is in rosemead, ca which is about 15 miles due east of los angeles. does anyone have any advice on getting this done?
PPI should be done at an independent shop of the BUYER'S choice. When I purchased my 456 the seller was willing to deliver the car to the shop for inspection. Do not purchase without PPI/ compression and leak down testing. Repairs are expensive. I had one done and all looked great but have developed a cam leak which is in the process of being fixed. I have driven the car 1500 miles in 2.5 months. The previous owner had barely driven 500 miles in over a 15 months. Realize , that if a car sits on a lot for months and is not driven, problems may not manifest themselves until some miles are put on the car. Absence of any maintenance records is quite a scary! I am having my work done at FastCars in Redondo Beach. Do not know if they do PPI's. Ask for Craig the manager. Good luck! AK
thanks Alex. rereading my post... I wasn't clear. I can use my own mechanic but the ppi needs to be done at the dealership. seems unusual and hard to setup. it's probably a strong car but I want it checked out.
If a seller makes it hard to do a PPI it is similar to a clinician of any kind objecting to a second opinion .....RUN, Marc
