Now I need to source some hood struts, anyone know if 308 hood struts are the same as the QP3 hood struts? They look quite similar. I have access to Ferrari parts but not Maserati stuff.

If you can determine the required length and weight rating from the struts that are in place on your car, you can probably find matching replacements at your local parts store. I got some for my trunk lid at MIE, and they were a USA-made part and look like the struts on all other cars.

There are a few online but I think the MIE ones are fine. I have used them for mine.

HA! You got that right!! I've been driving it every day but I left it at home yesterday and today because we are having bad storms. I think the QP is getting 8mpg and my 97 BMW 318i convertible gets 32mpg!

I'll get some measurements for the hood struts today!

Maybe a bigger gas tank would more apt. :D I have Suburban 7.4L that's like that.

    Oh well?

8mpg sounds a bit on the low side. You should be seeing 12-15 or so, from my experience. More if you can always make sure you have a tailwind and are driving (coasting) downhill.

I ordered the MIE struts for the hood and trunk and they worked fine and IIRC the price wasn't anything excessive.

    I just bought a 73 Wagoneer that'll get maybe 8 on a good day, but it's got a 35 gallon setup. :)

8-11.5 is my experience with 3 different years, an 80, 82 and 84. In California where u have ethanol in the mix, it makes it a little worse....

Hey no we have not looked into them yet as we were having the door handle replaced, oil changed and hand brake tightened. I will get into looking for tires this week. I've been daily driving the car even in severe thunderstorms in Atlanta traffic!!
