No, I'll stick with older stuff!.. Got tired of the huge depreciation in new ones. Factory tour though and museum.
Ferrari needs to sell an all new Dino with the size, purity, simplicity and emotion of the original. That would be worth buying! Freeman
I couldn't agree more, Freeman, but apparently a "moderately-priced" Ferrari (or Dino) doesn't jibe with Montezemolo's desire for high prices and exclusivity. Fred
I think you mean a Lotus? because that is what the Lotus is, minus the ferrari heritage blah blah blah today's cars are too big and bloated in my opinion - though they are powerful and incredibly aerodynamic...but how often can you go 205mph really?
The Elise although effective and a blast would be too crude but the Evora is a great target and a reasonable price point. Not that I wouldn't want a Bonafide Ferrari at the price of the Elise. I guess the Cayman is pretty close to that.
this would be an interesting concept , I think there could be a good market for a new generation DINO type FERRARI. LIGHTWEIGHT sexy shape (very important) reasonable power like the existing dino is sort of an upgraded lotus type car improved looks and interior etc....ferrari power....
The carpet arrived today from Henk! Rob is down to two exterior color choices, but with either one this is the correct choice for the carpet. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Last week we had time to get this Dino into the second primer. The first stage blocked out nicely... After that we were able to get the chassis prepped and painted. Now when Jon comes down we will install the fiberglass... this is so we don't have to work around finished paint. I got the fiberglass refurbishment completed when the car was first delivered to me. ,Went up to Steve's to check the progress and to put the fiberglass back in prior to paint. Also as things are getting close, so getting the rest of the parts assembled to be ready when the car arrives. After Jon finished installing the fiberglass parts at my shop we then re-fiberglassed the parts to the body like the factory did. The only thing I like to do before we lay up the cloth is to seam seal the gap first then glass it up. Now there is no void between the part and body. It's a much nicer job that will last much longer. After the fiberglass cures, the cloth and resin get sanded and a nice coat of Wurth undercoat to seal it all up. I didn't get a chance to take pics after the Wurth but it really turned out nice and looks great.( I will post later) No one will ever see it after the interior is in but it just makes it an over-all better job! I know Jon and the owner appreciate the extra value and effort. Steve Kouracos Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

This Dino is coming off the rotisserie very soon and will be mounted on one of my rolling carts. Jams will be painted before the final blocking. I am very excited to used my new Iwata spray gun. It is called the Supper Nova Designed by The Man.... Pininfarina. This spray gun set me back about $1000 dollars but it feels so nice in the hand. The ergonomic style and design is suppose to minimize hand fatigue as well as being the best at itemizing materials to leave you with a finish that lays out smooth and metallics and pearls look like no other. Ouch! but it does look really nice....makes me want to get rid of my Devilbiss... actually it would almost be worth it just to be able to look down and see "pininfarina" in my hand...
We have Blue, getting close to having to get it all put back together. Back to it's factory color!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Even though this was finished weeks ago I wanted to post how nice this segment finished up. Rob's cockpit is sealed up like a drum and there will be no fumes getting in this baby. Couple shots coming off the rotisserie. Now that the chassis has been painted I will have full access around the car when painting and I will be able to view front & rear from a distance without it being in the way. During the last block sand we will hang the bumpers and stick the grill in one more time, then back up to view to make sure everything lines up. It stuff like that....that make the difference. Rob made the right choice in my book when he wanted to stick with Blue Dino -- the original color. What's interesting is that ...when Jon G was taking this Dino apart and when I started to dig a little deeper there was clear evidence of Blue Sara from the first paint job but the paperwork showed otherwise ... this Dino was never painted with what the factory paper work said. So, now by going with the Blue Dino it will match 100% with the factory paperwork. I love it when things like this come together. Couple more pics of the color in the jams. Next week the doors will go back on for the final block sanding. Love this color... 70's period correct: 106 A 72 Ferrari Blue Dino. This color pops like crazy out in the sun and shows the highlights great! Steve Kouracos Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
