    What they should do is make a flat tax for anything over 100k or collector cars, boats planes, or anything else. Say 10-15k most would step up and pay rather then go through the hassle of setting up ways around it. Truth is 10-15k for every car, boat, plane or RV would be more in the long run then they lose from a guy in California buying in Oregon or getting a Montana LLC. The Government is not your friend and leave most with a bad taste in their mouth. Work with us and we will work with you. Take from us and of course we are going to find ways around it.
    They want what they didn't earn and the fact you have to pay tax on used anything is bull****. The Government double dips all the time, try that with the Government and see what they do to you.

    Do you have another shot of the car where you can see the number plate? Indeed the 25th is not homologated in Switzerland, therefore I assume it is on temporary or dealer plates.

    I believe this car is owned by a well-known dealer who lives in the Berne area. He also owns a Reventon & a Bugatti Veyron.

    Let me check & see what I have.

    Correct me if I am wrong, BE = Bern, Z = Duty not paid?

    Perhaps he is in process of making it a personal car because I would have expected the last prefix to be U = Trade or Dealer plates.

    Here is Swiss Dealer Max Bobnar's former 25th. SO = Solothurn, U = Trade or Dealer?

    Again, yourself or Raymond can correct me if I am wrong.

    Yes, this is Max Bobnars former car. the first image is from haegendorf.

    Correct
    SO = Solothurn
    AG = Aargau
    U = Dealer
    Z = export plates or temporarily registred (very common in the eighties with the Countach 400s, because it wasn't homologated in germany, so many german owner drove with swiss plates).

    Hi Joe,

    First of all many thanks for a fantastic thread! I'm slowly working my way through it, reading a few pages every day (60 more to go :) )

    I have your fantastic book on the Miura and would like to ask you if you might plan to write a similar book on the Countach - it would be great! Any chance?

    Ciao,

    Lars

    KLA12868 is coming up for auction in the U.K., during the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

    IMO it looks stunning in Bianco Perlato/white w.dark blue dash, piping & carpets - wow!!!

    For future reference, here's the description by Bonhams:

    First registered on 13th February 1990, the Countach has had only two owners from new and currently displays a total of 13,008 kilometres (approximately 8,080 miles) on the odometer. Recent works include a brake calliper rebuild (new pistons, seals, brake fluid, front brake cooling ducting and re-plating of the front brake shields); fitting new air filters; and changing the engine oil and filter; while the genuine Ansa sports exhaust has been coated in a ceramic satin black finish. In addition, the water pump has been overhauled and the car checked over by marque specialists Colin Clarke Engineering, who have advised that the clutch is 'approximately 75% worn' and the carburettors require an overhaul. Kept in a heated and dehumidified garage for the last 10 years, the Countach comes complete with owner's hand book, spare keys and tool kit, the latter containing an unused pair of leather 'Lamborghini' tyre changing gloves, plus an original Portman Lamborghini tax disc holder and Portman Lamborghini car cover. One spare outer front and one rear outer wheel rim, plus a few other spares, are included in the sale. Representing a rare opportunity to acquire what is widely regarded as the best road-going Countach in terms of handling and reliability, this well-maintained Anniversario is offered with the aforementioned order/purchase documentation, current road fund licence, MoT to May 2014 and UK V5C registration document.

    Here's the link to the car:

    Bonhams 1793 : 1990 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Coupé Chassis no. ZA9C005A0KLA12868 Engine no. 12868

    A small question:

    Would anyone know the s/n of the yellow/cream car that was in Washington on plates 212-NRF and was later sold to Russia?

    Many thanks!
