    Hi All,

    Does anyone currently have their engine out of their 348?

    I am looking for pics and certain measurements for a project I'm working on.

    The area I'm interested in is specific to the alternator brackets and mounting points and distances between the studs. What I want to do is remove the tensioner pulley and replace with a bracket that will allow tension to be set similar to the image below. I need those measurements to figure out the arc...

    Consider that with the standard set up you can remove and/or adjust A/C and alternator belts from underneath. I'm not sure you would still be able to do that with your proposed change. You would hate to have to drop the engine for a squealing alternator belt repair.

    I think there is enough room... that's the point of this little pet project, see if it's feasible...

    Not having to spin that pulley at x,000 rpm is going to free up a little bit of HP as well
