Any you guys ever imagine your perfect Ferrari sound set up? What would it have? I was thinking Capistro stage 3 with Fabspeed Y pipe and Tubi header with heatwrap. Would they even line up right? I am certainly still new to the F car experience but my passion runs deep. I hear lots of guys using Fabspeed Headers here. They better or just cost less? Would be fun to have the perfect sound and reliability set up as a Goal to hit for engine out service. I have a 95 Rosso Corsa with 6spd gate Berlinetta. If anyone has a set up they love, please post a link. Its a huge motivator to hear them fly by. Thanks

I went through this decision process just a few months ago. I weighed cost, sound, design, warranty, essentially all the factors. The car was new to me and having valve guides done, so I wanted to go ahead and replace the entire factory exhaust while the car was apart. Car is a 1995 2.7 GTB.

I went with Nouvalari headers, and had them ceramic coated by Zircotec. They are a true 4-2-1 design like the factory and Tubi design. However cost much less than Tubi and have a lifetime warranty.....no brainer. Zircotec does the ceramic coating for about half the F1 teams, so I figure they know their stuff. http://www.zircotec.com/

Quicksilver test pipes, they are beautifully made and Aston Martin of New England happened to be having a killer sale on Quicksilver stuff at the time, so these were essentially 50% off.

Nouvalari cat-delete Y-pipe. Again, lifetime warranty.

Nouvalari Supersport exhaust. Liked the sound clips I heard. Good value relative to Kreissieg or Capristo. All stainless, lifetime warranty.

I am extremely happy with my choices. If cost were no object, I may have gone with the Capristo stage 3 muffler. I think it may have just a bit more of this high-pitched F1 howl compared the Nouvalari, but this is just judging from youtube which is not the most accurate thing. I think I may treat myself to a Capristo for Christmas this year, and compare them in person, then just keep the one I like best and sell the other.

I don't have any external roadside clips yet (hopefully this weekend if it doesn't rain!), but here is a gopro on the back end:

Also a quick clip the mechanic sent me after finishing the installation:

Right now, I have Tubi headers, test pipe primary cats, fabspeed decatted y pipe and Tubi exhaust. Maybe a capristo will be in the future some day, but its plenty loud to get annoying after an hours drive.

Have your timing changed because you don't have cats
Finally have the chips redone from Italy through Daytona auto in Toronto
and your car will feel like you had a new race engine dropped in.

How should the timing be changed when running without cats? Any links to threads on this? I tried searching but couldn't find anything.

Also additional info on the Daytona chips would be appreciated!

I should have stressed that this is for the 2.7 engine only. The 5.2 can be done but the main cpu has to be sent to the Ferrari boys in Italy. You would have to contact Daytona and go through them as they have the connections to the motronic programmers in Italy. Attached below is the timing for these cars without cats. Remember that they were originally designed to run without cats. When you receive and install the new chips, your car will feel much more powerful because it is. The guys who do these chips are the same guys that designed them for Ferrari and also do the F1 cars. BTW your 355 will then redline at 9000rpm but you will never bounce off it(unlike original) because there is so much more power getting there.

Yes my car is a 2.7. How much difference does the swapping of the ecu chips actually make? Is it a noticeable gain? I think the timing thing is something I will definitely get done when the engine is out for the next major, so that will be a while. But the chips are something may want to go ahead and drop in in the meantime.

You have to get the timing done first and then the chips are ordered to the spec of the car....cats or no cats, type of headers and muffler and cam timing. And yes you will feel the difference. To put it in terms that are easy to understand....My car is slightly faster than a stock 360.

Rebuilt headers, test pipes (both primary and secondary), factory Challenge exhaust:

(I had the girlfriend drive the car....i filmed with my cellphone today. she was driving cautiously, hence the overly slow shifting).

I kind of miss the high pitched F1 sound of the previous system, but the Challenge does absolutely rock. It's not streetable for the average person. Lots of resonance at idle. video does not do it justice. it sounds like a NA V8 Indy Car, as opposed to the F1 sound.

    video from today:

yep, that's the style. if you're used to a tubi or capristo sound, you might really be taken back. the "tearing metal" sound goes away. that being said, I do believe the car sounds amazing from the outside.

Send a PM to FChat user captglen, he is the Nouvalari rep. Very nice guy and extremely helpful to me as I was trying to figure out what all parts I needed. He also handled all the aftermarket ceramic coating logistics at the coater of my choice. I can not remember exactly what I paid for mine as I did a big package deal with the muffler and other exhaust components, but I think the headers were around $2800 (give or take), plus another few hundred for the ceramic coating. I think their super sports muffler was around $1700. Everything is hand made of T-304 stainless. Delivery took a few weeks, as they are built to order in England.

I just realised that since you still have a bypass pipe on your car, it won't sound that loud here because it doesn't open when you're just revving the engine in neutral.
