    Great pics Jon, thanks! What material do you use for the engine compartment/firewall? This has been discussed before but I don't think that any real consensus has been reached on the most authentic looking material. I have the engine out of 02350 now and am considering fireproof closed cell foam from an experimental jet aviation company. Also, what heat ratings should we be looking for? "Hot as the sun" does not seem to be available.

    I am glad to see that he was able to let you take it completely apart. With old cars in for a penny in for a pound and if you don't bite the bullet you are just covering up badness for later. In some cases that's structural rust that shows up when thing break!

    Your restorations and documentation thereof are great- thanks so much!

    It's really the only way to go in my opinion. There is just too much stuff hiding in these old cars. It's nice now that the value can justify going the extra distance.

    The Dino is completely stripped and goes for media blasting tomorrow. I go to to the Platers in Los Angeles tomorrow with EVERYTHING that gets plated. Besides the car being stripped, every part that needs something plated has also been taken apart. While the wiring is out I mark everything while it is still fresh in my mind. After 40 years the wires are not very pliable but still functional and but very hard to to make new looking.

    Grunge work today, cleaning fiberglass. Not fun for sure, but has to be done. Still more work to be done but 80% of the gunk is gone.

    The body is now blasted and is naked to the world. As you can see overall in pretty good shape. There has been damage to the right sill and the nose. Minimal rust but in the usual places. The doors will be done on Monday, so we will see what's there. It's always very interesting to see what is hiding below a coat of paint. Ready to start on suspension after I get back from 10 days in Austin, Texas for vacation. I'm also picking up a certain car while there for me???

    Sand is not used but yes the outside of the body is media blasted.
