I just bought an Espada! What a car! It is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, totally original and unmolested. Extremely nice to drive. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was very lucky to get it! As soon as I bought it, the man wanted to buy it back, but I refused his offer.
Congratulations, that looks spectacular! Any more pictures to post?? And where is the showroom?? Interesting stock there. Best. Mark
Was it taken from the Frei collection in Porrentruy private garage, of was it just stored here ? I saw one similar there back in 2007. Can the VIN be revealed ?
Hummm Hummm Edouard... you were missing place for your kids ? I understand that in the Islero rear seats are tight... good choice for this nice Espada SIII. It is the one from the Frei collection, I saw it back in 2011, yes what's the VIN ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Exactly, this is the one from the Frei collection! The kids will have more space in the back. It is chassis number 9018.
It comes from a private collection that sits just next to Lamborghini Suisse in Porrentruy. You're right, this collection is truly amazing and I was lucky to get one of these cars. More pictures to come!
Bravo Edouard, Welcome in the Espada family! Please post more photos and details of it. Philippe S2 7987
They were in a completely different league. One was one of the most perfect I have ever seen while the other one was exactly like many others: needing a lot to be done... On top of that I much prefer the Espada in silver!
Thanks a lot! Here is a quick picture. I'll take time to make some more next weekend. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congratulations, great looking car! Does it have power steering? Only a few early Espada S3 were delivered without power steering and I'm trying to find out if there is a relationship between the steering wheel (wooden or steel) and the PS. From the picture it seems that your car has a wooden steering wheel.
Late S2 cars had it too. My guess is that those with deeper and smaller diameter steering wheels would have PS?
Yes it does. I think that with Lamborghini, everything is possible and it is very hard to derive any strict rule from observing even a large number of cars.
What ever was on the shelf and of course a customer could ask for something different as well. General rules just beg for exceptions ...
Are these Sales & Service and Warranty & Owners Log Book for Espada S3? Manual, Sales & Service Directory [901080399] - USD $299.99 : Ferrari Books Manual, Warranty & Owners Log Book [901110000] - USD $389.99 : Ferrari Books I hope you can help me. Regards Leo
If you want originals make certain that those are actual originals in top condition for that sort of price. That owners manual looks like a cheap copy. Maybe it's just a bad choice of advertising phot? You can get copies of owners, service and parts manuals for a whole lot less elsewhere. Keep looking. Some are even available as downloads. There are Italian versions of service manuals with more details in them too. Check out the VLG on Yahoo and ask questions there and here. Between the two you should be able to learn what you want.
Can someone tell me if the Espada interior rear view mirror is unique or does it have its origins from another car. As I would like one. Cheers Graeme Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Guys Well the gearbox is in and the car is back on the road and driving. So to summarise the differences: 1. The floorpan is bespoke to the auto and very different. The holes cut are for the auto and the pedals and the the ancillaries to them. 2. The Centre consul is different and the gear lever in a different position. 3. The Floor pan is much narrower at the foot well to accommodate the much wider auto 4. The manifolds are different to accommodate wider exhausts from the manifolds back 5. The Exhausts then narrow behind the gearbox, meaning the front pipes and centre pipes are different 6. The drive shaft is a different length 7. The coupling onto the diff is different 8. The crown wheel and pinion are bespoke and have comparatively higher gearing to the manual version. 9. The engine tuning and timing are a bit different 10. There is a separate gearbox oil cooler under the existing radiator. 11. The pedal box is bespoke and not just a chopped down version of the manual 12. The flywheel is bespoke to the auto 13. The Gearbox mounting points and brackets are different When I get the car back and box I will weigh the auto box which is a Chrysler Torqueflite 3 and the torque convertor and let you know the weights. My rough recollection, was the convertor was about 15kg and the box about 60kg but that was a long time ago since i carried them! Anyone know the weight of the manual box? When I get more information I will post it. Just so keen to get the car back! Paul
Lol Well Peter, We thought it would be quite easy to do! The main thing that caught us out is that the floorpan is bespoke and not just the manual one with bits blalnked off and other holes cut! For the small numbers of autos built, about 56?, it seems a lot of work. The auto tended to change up very quickly, so that you would be in the equivalent of 5th at about 25mph! You could keep it locked in 2nd,but that felt a bit short. The car really just seemed to come alive at 5000rpm or peak torque which was bout 100mph. I will be keeping all the auto bits so that any future buyer can convert it back if they so wish. I have had the car 20 years this month. So perhaps after another 10 years of some use I will get around to selling it! Any prospective buyers! Paul
