Hi Kimbo, Tony aka Lambrusco V12 is playing with Dakota as we speak. He sent me these pics just now. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tony and Taffy, He is so cute....Labrador? Had two myself....most affectionate dogs ever. Outstanding work on the car, congratulations to both of you. I spent many years working in parts/service for Italian cars and so am able and have been happy to help you ID parts that were used/shared by other makes, such as the taillights and fuel filler cap/indicator stalks etc! Cheers, Kim
Hi Kim, Dakota is a Golden Retriever, 6 weeks old now. The fearsome "attack dog" Thanks for the help, we did order parts from Fiat fuel caps, Alfa Romeo Alfetta tail lights, Triumph TR7 indicator stalk, Bosch/Audi Lambda sensors, etc. Yes it is fun researching parts for this car. Not so much fun fixing the electrical system though. Cheers, Taffy
Yeah , she (the cockatoo) loves to steal my coffee ... LM is making good progress , we now have a day and night shift working on it. There's not too much wrong with it but it has suffered from neglect. To me the 7,500kms indicated on the odometer is genuine, once the team started cleaning everything the LM is still like a new vehicle being preserved under 20 years of oil and hydraulic leaks. Luckily Taffy decided to pull the engine , there was enough dead leaves hidden in places that couldn't be seen in the engine bay to start a decent engine fire and we can replace the seals where the engine oil is leaking from. I'm amazed that a HUGE engine bay can be so inaccessible with the engine installed. Most of the engine accessories, headers etc can hardly been seen. Other than 2 spots of corrosion on the LHS of the engine bay the body and chassis is in great shape. The biggest job now is rewiring the LM and sorting out the ECUs, someone made a huge mess of the electrical system THEN the windscreen seal failed (probably not reinstalled properly after the respray) allowing a lot of water into the cabin with lots of stagnant water sitting under the seats and very high humidity. The first few times we started the LM just about every warning light came on and stayed on .... we've found spliced and bypassed wires, broken connectors, unplugged connectors, broken wires and the ECUs were covered in corrosion. By coincidence an off road mechanic turned up at my office last week and knew a bit of the history of the LM , he said the main reason it was parked was endless electrical problems. .
You may want to look at getting a Quicksilver exhaust for your LM. They are the only company that makes an aftermarket exhaust. I had one on my LM and it sounded amazing! Keep up the good work on your build!

I see... I really love this 4x4... very avant garde for Lambo to build a car in this direction, way before the age of Soccer mom's SUV. I will never sell mine though ... I will never get another RHD LM, unless Audi or the Royal Brunei Family went bankrupt BTW do You the the picture of the modified MSD ignition ? I would like to upgrade mine too. Thanks. Cheers, Taffy
Bad exhaust design. There is ample space underneath to go with bigger diameter single tube Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh almost forgot... the ZF label (was still dirty). Hmm.. West Germany ? I guess they made the gearbox before 1989 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Happy Monday ! Transfer case is no longer covered in oil Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is a unique transfer case. All those oil lines just for a box...jeez. Was this used in any other vehicles or special item just for the LM? Gear driven inside?
