The weather actually looks good tomorrow. I was thinking of heading to C&C before heading out to Mondialpalooza. Any interest? FWIW, I just got my wife a new white/white Volvo C70 convertible (w/polestar chip). I was thinking of borrowing JoeMac's fannypack and uncomfortably short shorts and swinging by C&C in the new estrogen mobile.
I'll be there. Early. Might head down to Race Proven's open house afterwards to see the 'merican muscle.
Huh, Polestar actually is a performance company for Volvo vehicles - who knew? I am glad I checked as I was getting ready to comment on what I thought was a wildly inappropriate stripper comment about your wife. So is that thing boosted to 250 crank HP now? I am going to have to show up just to see that.
250hP/275torque in a FWD vehicle. Not a ton of power, but a nice fat torque figure for a front driver. My wife is going to look like a hooligan spinning the wheels whenever she stabs the gas... I think it is hilarious!!! However, I probably won't be taking the Volvo this morning. As you guys probably guessed, Joe refused to lend me his fanny pack...apparently he is going out with "the boys" today and needs his man purse. So, weather permitting, I will be taking the TR to C&C
I was thinking the same thing! Pics from C&C! Green is In Album View Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What no pics of the Supra Alex? Lol your Asian you automatically have to take pictures of it right? Good pictures by the way (and captions like usual)
Haha thank you Jon and here are my pictures http://razzi.me/albums/25389-c-c-6-29-hot-weather-and-hot-cars
LOL I worked with a pro Volvo team raced in SCCA Speed World Challenge ( = top level of SCCA pro racing, sprint races 1-2.5 hr.s). Raced against factory Cadillacs, Porsches, Vettes, Vipers, Astons etc. Engines built by Cosworth Racing, gearboxes = Xtrac "dog gear" sequential ($70k a pce. good for 3-5 races ea.). We had so so success 04-06 but considering car developed from scratch vs. factory backed others was quite the feat. First pic is Michael Galati (formerly of Champion Audi TransAm fame) winning in the rain at Mosport. First win.... took the AWD in the rain to make it happen and if race was 1/2 lap longer our car would have totally broken - had major hub/upright development issues. We also actually had Derek Bell (the Derek Bell) driving one of them first year = '04. He quickly came to realization he was too old for a car like that 650+++ turbo hp and sub 2k lb car and gave it up half into season, even tho he was getting paid a pretty penny to drive them. I'm talikng about cars that if you weren't a very experienced pro-level driver you almost for sure could not even get it around the track once, even just limping along. '07ish team was sold to Volvo nut guy made it K-pax racing and they developed all new cars and went on to domiinate Speed World Challenge for 2 maybe 3 years... spanking the factory buiilt Porsche GT3s, Caddy CTSvs, Vettes all of them. Drivers were Randy Pobst, and sometimes Andy Pilgram = factory GM driver sometimes Galati, not sure who now. Volvo...... stodgy, boring... but don't scoff at it. The underlying engineering is very very solid... or at least was, not so sure about new post chinese-aquisition stuff. My wife's Volvo is built in Sweden and was designed long before the acquisition. It is staggeringly well built. Not exciting, but extremely competent. it feels like it is made of granite and has panel gaps that would make Lexus sweat. I seldom buy cars new, but I feel like this car is such a quality piece of equipment I anticipate she will have it long enough for me to stomach the depreciation!
Joe if you plan to drive the Volvo you'll need a flat cap and knitted cardigan .... Fantastic selection of auto's - keep the pictures coming..... bloody hot down here ...
+1...wife's car has been various Volvo's for over a decade (leases). Most recently the V50 - which I understand they stopped making...bummer...nice little wagon.
For all of you that have never stayed at Cars and Coffee to the very end this is the next group that occupy the parking lot. Never a dull moment at Starbucks West Chester. Jon in Delaware Image Unavailable, Please Login

Great seeing everyone this weekend! I am glad Barry brought his 308 so we could stage the "308 Stoplight" Big thanks to Bob for meeting and bringing me up the back roads to C&C. A much better ride than 95 to 202 for sure. But the trip back down south was EPIC! This man knows some roads! A good portion of the afternoon was spent picking crabs at a local hangout of Bob's. Overall a GREAT day. Curtis PS Mr. Zaff - while I appreciate you allowing me to place my humble ass in the hallowed driver's seat of your TR, I was not overcome enough to want to convert to a single mirror car - what I call the Lance Armstrong Edition (think about it ). Though I try to be open and understand other peoples' likes and obsessions, you will have to bring more Kool-Aid for me to join the cult. PPS I may have farted in the seat
