Nope, with all due respect, wrong again. The July 17-19th Silverstone dates - the original YDT - are now for all (including regular jockeys) excluding Merc. They may add another day to said test (20th) No other dates have been suggested / proposed as yet beyond a *possible* run after Brazil. To be confirmed. Cheers, Ian
The biggest shame about this mess is what it's doing to our community. Guys, this is supposed to be fun.
More testing plans in the works: SPEEDWEEK Formel 1 - Tests nach Brasilien-GP: Polizei verwehrt Schutz Pirelli needs tests but can't use a current car, which doesn't help them much. They're slated to test in Le Castellet and Barcelona. Another problem is that not all the top teams now have 2011 cars left for such a test. Pirelli also wants to do a test session after the Brazilian GP for next season but the Sao Paulo police is not willing to guarantee the safety for such an additional event. Sounds like the FIA really needs to loosen up its testing restrictions and change the rules.
+1 The FIA have confirmed the conditions for the upcoming YDT; Further tests (at Ricard & Barcelona) are under discussion, but nothing confirmed as yet; Todt is on record as saying they can use current cars should it happen. Cheers, Ian pitpass - FIA confirms conditions for YDT
Hmm. As long as its strictly a tire test? Like the MB test? Some folks had doubts about that being strictly a tire test as I remember.
