Oh well...so much for the French having good taste...
Thanks for the reply. I wonder if the response you got was for an original order or for an import as well.
Stokpro, any historical information on this beauty? I would be forever indebted to you as a prospective CS owner sentax at gmail dot com I know importing will have some potential drawbacks on resale value but I dont anticipate them to be that much. Any advice from other forum members re: importing canadian vehicle to US would be sincerely appreciated.
I kicked the tires on that one but I guess the dealer assumed that since they never got back to me. Buying a Ferrari from an authorized Dealer will make your import to the US simpler since one of the conditions for importation is to confirm there are no outstanding recalls. Being the location of this Dealer relative to the US I bet they would take care of the Importation for you. Good luck and let us know if you end up getting it.
If you are talking about a CS, it shouldn't be a big deal. It's basically a NA market car, with a speedo/odo in metric. If you are talking about a 25+ year old Ferrari, its a no brainer
Thanks. I'm considering a CS, and trying to define where to look, or not to look. I'd like to find one local to So. Ca., but don't want to limit myself anymore than necessary. John
I was looking at another car at Ferrari of Montreal. I think you have to pay an import tax in addition to the tax in the state where you live. Would like to know from other Fchat members who have imported cars from Canada if this is true.
price comparison... Ferrari F430 F1 Scuderia ° Einmalige Ausstattung ° als Sportwagen/Coupé in Nürnberg Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale als Sportwagen/Coupé in Singen / Hohentwiel
That certainly is the case from US to Canada if the Car is not built in North America. For us Canadians the fee is 6.1% Duty of the sale price and then our local taxes which are 13% of the total price after the dollar amount has been converted into Canadian funds. To give you an idea, if I was to buy a Ferrari from the US for say $120,000 USD, by the time I apply all the charges I mentioned above I could just as well buy a Canadian Car for $135,000 CAD.
Does anybody have information on this one? 2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale I may give them a call in a few weeks...
what's the rationale for waiting a few weeks? The car may be sold by then. are you hoping that the dealer is more amenable to negotiating if the car sits for a while?
Another TDF CS available on eBay, in Florida: Ferrari : 360 Challenge Stradale in Ferrari | eBay Motors VIN: ZFFDU57A240135215 There seem to be some references on here saying it had been offroad (perhaps bumpers damaged and replaced), that the stripe wasn't original, the interior wasn't original nor the stereo and exhaust. Has anyone had a look to confirm? The TDF exterior with black alcantara/ yellow stitching is my perfect combination. Thanks, Dom
I put in a request via their web site already telling them I was interested and figured I should see if they respond. I don't want to appear to anxious for the negotiating reasons as you suspected. I would also like to try and find out about the car to confirm it is worth calling them about it.
I'm going there tomorrow to pick up a part i will ask about the car and have a look at it for you and report back.
Thanks for twisting my arm. I just got off the phone with Mark Harrison, super nice sales person. If another sales person approaches you please be sure and let them know Mark is the person I'm dealing with so that there is no conflicts. I look forward to hearing what you think it looks like in person.
