Thank you. Hard to go wrong with classic combinations. The wheels are nice in silver aren't they? Of course I am quite biased.
Keep posting pics! But I am confused about the red Ferrari colors. The Rosso Mugello in the Ferrari California looks something like your color, but in the F12 configurator, it shows as a dark burgundy color. What gives? Which is the darkest red color on the F12? Thanks!
Dave, since you asked nicely, here you go. First rule when using the Ferrari configurator (online or at the dealer) is don't trust what you see on the screen. Second rule is "see first rule". Not only are the colours off, the shades are out of whack too. What I mean by this is that the aluminum dashboard trim is much darker in real life than is shown on the configurator, even on the dealer's 42" all singing, all dancing system. You really have to take a look at the paint, leather, and carpet samples at your dealership, preferably under natural light. Showroom lights can be very misleading. I believe that Rosso Mugello is the darkest of the standard reds. I would bet though that Ferrari has some even darker reds in their out-of-production range. But as with anything extracampionario from Ferrari, be prepared to pay big $$$$$, , or £££££ for the privilege. The photographer is very talented isn't he? Sure beats crappy iPhone pics. I have to go drive some 458's and F12's now, but more pics when I get back!
im totally wowed over.. you must be the envy of your neighbours and friends. Wahahaha. Including me, but dont get me wrong, im not sour, im just inspired! Saw your pics on your photogs facebook page and i must admit..too gooooood. Esp the passenger display spec... cool is an understatement for it... Congrats on your new manly toy! Drive her in good health! Cheeeeeers!
My neighbours have nicer cars than I do. They won't even blink if they see my car tootling around. My friends aren't really into cars. All they might notice is the colour, especially since all my other cars are in some shade of silver. Thank you for your good wishes.
It guess it might be heresy to do it, but with my OCD complex, (see calipers, above) I would have to take my new F12 to a paint shop to have the front spoiler painted from the standard black to the matching body color. (not the place where you blocked out your license plate). That's the ONLY thing that bugs me with the car.
Hahaha. Well.... there's always a first for everything. Are your neighbours driving british luxurious marques? If not i do not think any other cars come close other than the italian bull which are....pretty common i'd say..in sillypore that is... My pleasure.. Are you planning to mod it or to keep it pure?
You mean the piece that sticks out underneath the blacked out license plate? I think that piece matches the Sports Sill Cover (PEXS) that I picked because it was a no-cost option. Good thing you won't have to live with my plain jane calipers and funny sticking out bit in the front.
One of my neighbours has almost the entire VW/Audi family, including Bentleys, Audis, Porsches, and VW's, and a bunch of everyday Lexus and Merc S class. There are usually 7 to 8 cars parked in his driveway. Another neighbour has a fax machine and a Gallardo tucked away on the side of the house, with 3 or 4 other everyday MB's and BMW's. Most of my neighbours have garages and car ports that are hidden from public view. Some have vast underground parking complexes that contain god knows what. I think you get the picture. The only thing I will change on the car are the floor mats. Leather mats cost less than half the OEM carpet mats from Ferrari, and are actually more durable.
No, I'm the guy who actually likes plain jane calipers. Tattoos, remember? In going over the F12 pictures thread, it seems that the "front lip spoiler" I'm referring to is unrelated to the sports sill cover option. Page 9 of that thread shows one with no black sports sills covers yet with a black front lip spoiler. Must be two separate options, as I have seen pictures of the front lip spoiler that was color-keyed with the body color. Interesting. What's the black thing in the lower back of the car (in the middle, between the tail pipes) that looks like a 12-key numeric pad?
AFAIK, the front lip spoiler will be black no matter whether you have Sport Sill Covers or body coloured sills. My point is that I chose the Sports Sill Covers to tie in visually to the black front lip spoiler and rear diffuser. I was not aware that the factory offers colour-keyed front lip spoilers. Do recall which post you saw this in? The black thing at the back is the fog light à la Formula 1.
I saw it on page 5, post 85....and on page 8, post 160. Looks like an option? Or maybe they were pre-production prototypes? As I said, I like the color-keyed spoiler better. It completes the car, IMO. And to further add complexity to the issue, here are a white and a silver F12 with light gray front lip spoilers (not color keyed)...Page 18, post 342 and page 19, post 372. Very odd!
The colour-keyed spoiler does look good I must admit. This might well be offered as an option in the future. I will ask someone in the Maranello Atelier in September when I go for the 458 VS preview. Like you, I do have a mild case of OCD.
You mean you didn't know that Ferrari parts are ridiculously expensive? Or that leather mats are more durable than carpet mats?
Congratulations Peter! She's utterly gorgeous! Would you happen to know if the passenger display is the same as the one on the FF? Couple of months back I was told RHD FFs are not offered the option because it was manufactured for the LHD configuration only. Seems like they've made a RHD version.
Thanks, she does look rather fetching doesn't she? I believe the PDIS is identical in both V12 models. Whoever told you it wasn't available on RHD FF's was badly informed. FWIW, Ital's FF pricelist as of 25 Feb, 13 shows the PDIS available at S$15k, slightly less than S$15,800 for the F12.
She does indeed. Really fancy the leather interior. Feels and looks more GT than having it swathed in CF. I'd probably leave CF for the V8s. Ah, I guess you're right, he probably was misinformed. That's pretty exorbitant for a mere display!
I think one of the very few Dino's running around Singapore would get far more appreciation and looks over an f12. Even a 1967 911s says class and enthusiast more than running around in an f12 in simgapore to those that truly know cars.
we had a meet up a week ago and had the pleasure of an austin healey, jag e-type, the dino and a bunch of air-cooled porsches ... trust me, most of the pics that day are of this group, even tho there were a host of modern ferrari's ... from the 360cs, to the 430's, 458's, f12's and the GTO ... and the fax machine ... i, for one, was blown away by the old cars ... it was indeed a treat ...
