    Thanks for the photos.
WHat did you put in the rear?
Which brand and model speaker. Looks like a midrange and tweeter.
Must have a crossover. So just plug the power into the crossover?

Focal was used front and rear. Both sets had crossovers, and a 5 channel amp and sub was also added.

So no upgrade to the head unit....Just speakers, amp and sub? Where was the sub mounted? Where was the Amp mounted? How long did installation take? How much was the budget? Did they add speakers or just replace what was already there?

I had the speakers upgraded and the amp was installed under the passenger seat. That was actually impressive since I have the CF seats. No sub but it was still a big upgrade in quality. I think it was around $2,500

The last 2 I did I also replaced the head unit. The control over the sound was much better. The sub went in the trunk in the space right behind the back seat. The tool kit was removed and the amp went under the panel in the trunk. To replace everything and add the three way speakers in the doors was around $8k.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who upgraded their audio. I used Audison Voce AV K6 6.5” components, front, a JL Audio 8” subwoofer, Audison Bit One Signal Interface Processor and Alpine PDX-F4 100wx4 amp. I left the rear speakers alone. I lost the pass-through because that's where the amp and sub are located. I don't miss it, as I'm not a golfer and don't plan on taking the California skiing.

I really like what you did. ;) The only thing I might try to do differently is perhaps use a passive subwoofer instead and avoid having to gut the toolbox to fit an amp for the subwoofer.

My own experience is that the biggest bang for the buck when upgrading my audio was upgrading the amplifier with quality cabling to match power output and good speakers. If the speakers were weak, just replacing them with ones that match the power output and type of music I like would do the trick.

I'd love to do an upgrade like yours on my Cali 30 but I would get an all-clear from my dealer as regards my warranty before I swap the audio components, just in case.

can I see a closer shot of the head unit so I can see the fit and finish? Thanks.

Also, who's head unit make and model?

    Did you have several choices?

Yes please tell us who created that Head unit and how it integrated to the rest of the system. The OEM unit ( by QNX ) is not really upgradeable. Basically there is no line out so my installer went through "hoops" to lower the signal level and run it into an amp. Probably not ideal.

My, that's really sharp, looks smaller than the OEM unit but the installer's matched the leather. Does it duplicate all the controls of OEM unit and what about the USB socket?

The unit is a Kenwood. The usb and Ipod connector are in the glove box. I am the installer on these cars. I've done around 20 Californias, everything from full audio systems, radar/laser systems, and backup cameras. I've done several with the Bit-One, but replacing the stock unit gives many more features as well as multi band equalization. With the newest Kenwood, you can even have internet capability.
