Who will win? Any other nerds online (besides me) hoping for the first SciFi/Fantasy winner?

Normally, I could care less. But I will be watching next year to see if Padre Mel's picture gets any nominations. Should be interesting. Already, I'm predicting a flood of reglious movies. Hollywood might be Jewish. It might be Commie. But nowhere else does money talk and BS walks like Hollywood, or is it Greedwood?

Im sure that LOTR was a good movie but I havnt put much faith into the Oscars since Shakespeare in Love beat out Saving Private Ryan for best picture in 98

Oscar has become a marketing tool that creates an event when there is nothing going on.

Summer is all Action movies (too many hit last year in the same month, after waiting all year for a good action movie). I wish they'd spread them out.

Thanksgiving and Xmas are all about the Huge Block Busters

February March April is getting into spring and nothing but dull dramas at the movies. So the Oscar helps feed the Drama season with a little self-made hype.

Movies use to be better when you could get a little-bit of everything all year long.

Does anyone know what kind of instrument was Sting playing when he performed with that female vocalist? It was quite unusual, where he was turning a crank while playing it, I've never seen that before.
