It is amazing what a phone can take quality wise. Just imagine how big the sensor is in the phone and the megapixels they cram onto it. Truly amazing!

actually I have a Festool shop vacuum...the bag has thousands of spiders filled in it...
I leave it on a little longer so I know they have been crippled..
its a free standing garage out in the woods, real buggy.

    a slow death.. I Hope...

not to mention we spray for Ticks and Mosquitos..
so this one might be a mutation...

    iso 2500 at 4000th of a sec, f 4.5...

even in brightest sunlight and a flash that would be black screen as shot..

The 6D is strongest in one area and that is low light performance. It can focus and shoot in almost complete darkness with little noise. I think it is the best low light DSLR made today. Believe it or not I actually darkened the exposure to make that little bug pop. Now I just wish it had the auto focus system of the 1Dx/5d iii, oh well, my camera fund is only 1/5 the way towards a 1dx at this point.

Oh yeah! And I use the timer so I don't upset the Camera. I could have used my phone or Nexus tablet to trigger it but was too lazy.

    OK V - Twelve...heres my version
    great challenge for me..
    Difficult subject for sure

I did not set out to get Dragonfly shots...I even brought the wrong lens, but I happened upon a little friend who was nice enough to let me take his pic..
    here are a few..
    Nikon D800E
    85mm 1.4 portrait lens
    mostly 1/5000 of a sec. 1so 100- 600
all pics heavily cropped as the min focus on this lens was about 36 inches..

Nice shots! Great detail. That last one is modern art. I hope you weren't baiting him with a carrot stick! That is unethical as the little guy will probably lose is instinct to find carrots in the wild. LOL!

    Thanks..
No Bait, Thats a snow plow property marker, those fibreglass sticks..I line my driveway with them in parts to keep cars off mulch..

We should start a thread on insects...all insect shots..
    Great fun..
This lens at that speed had wide open 1.4 , so depth of field was so precise, hard to focus on just face and get it right.

I took advantage of my mega pix in these as I had the wrong lens and had to stand back.I have a 105/2.8 macro..I will try next weekend..
There is a new insect I want to catch, not literally though..
They are hole digging Hornets..huge wasps that dig holes in the ground, very scary..but great colorfull subject matter..
